The Ducati Monster 2026 arrives on the market as the fifth generation of an icon of naked sports motorcycles, featuring a complete redesign with an 890 cc V2 engine derived from the Panigale V2, dry weight reduced to 175 kg and advanced electronics. The new version maintains the philosophy of eliminating the unnecessary and focusing on the essential, inherited since the original launch in 1992. The model was announced in October 2025 and will begin deliveries to European dealerships from February 2026, with production already underway.
The Ducati prioritized lightness and agility in the new Monster, combining modern classic design with updated technology for daily use and sports riding. The driving test carried out on Málaga roads, in Espanha, highlighted the feeling of lightness superior to the official figures and the accessible power delivery in different speed ranges.
New generation maintains iconic essence
The fifth generation of the Monster preserves striking visual elements of the original model, such as the boldly shaped tank and the truncated rear, updated for a contemporary look. The design incorporates a full LED headlight and side panels with the Ducati shield and Borgo Panigale coordinates.
Two tones are available: Vermelho Ducati and Branco Gelo. The Monster+ offers additional accessories such as a windshield and seat cover. The fuel tank has a capacity of 14 liters and has been redesigned to better integrate the front air intake.
V2 engine with advanced technology
The 890 cc liquid-cooled Ducati V2 engine delivers maximum power of 111 hp at 9,000 rpm and torque of 91.1 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The intake valve opening variation system (IVT) guarantees ample torque, with more than 80% available between 4,000 and 10,000 rpm, facilitating control at low and medium speeds.
This engine is 5.9 kg lighter than the previous one and requires valve clearance checks only every 45,000 km, the longest interval in its category. Power delivery is smooth, with low vibration thanks to the 90-degree V-twin balance. Acceleration responds progressively, gaining a sportier character at high revs, with a characteristic sound that evolves into a high-pitched roar at peak.
Chassis and suspensions optimized for lightness
The aluminum monocoque frame uses the engine as a structural element, combined with a double rear swingarm inspired by the Panigale V4. Dry weight reaches 175 kg, a reduction of 4 kg compared to the previous generation.
The front suspension features a 43 mm Showa inverted fork, while the rear has a monoshock with adjustable preload. The Brembo brakes include M4.32 radial calipers with dual 320mm discs at the front and a 245mm disc at the rear.
The Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires, measuring 120/70ZR17 front and 180/55ZR17 rear, contribute to agility and stability on dry or wet roads.

Electronics and riding modes
The electronics package integrates 6-axis IMU for cornering ABS, traction control and wheelie control. Quatro riding modes (Sport, Road, Urban and Wet) adjust power, throttle response and electronic interventions.
The 5-inch TFT screen, 16% larger than the previous one, offers day/night modes and Estrada and Estrada Pro layouts for better visibility. The bidirectional quickshifter makes gear changes easier.
Test riding experience
During the Málaga test on wet suburban roads, the Monster demonstrated remarkable lightness, feeling even more agile than the stated 175 kg. The bike glides easily and maintains stability even on tight curves or wet asphalt.
The riding position balances comfort and sporty control, with higher and more advanced handlebars, reducing fatigue on long journeys. Standard seat height is 815mm, with an option lowered to 775mm in some markets.
Electronic controls provide additional safety in adverse conditions, stabilizing the bike in corners and allowing confidence even for less experienced riders.
Details that enhance everyday life
The new Monster facilitates urban and highway use with smooth idling and immediate throttle response. The hydraulic clutch and quickshifter offer precise and light shifting.
The seat, 5 mm lower and narrower, improves foot support. The compact body combines agility in tight traffic with stability at higher speeds.
The philosophy of refined simplicity highlights the model as a contemporary naked that combines pure fun with modern technological assistance.
The Ducati Monster 2026 represents an evolution faithful to the legacy, offering accessible performance and driving pleasure without excess.
