App car attack: victim reports physical aggression and extortion by Pix in SP
A 27-year-old woman was the victim of physical aggression and extortion during a ride requested via an app in São Paulo. The case occurred on the night of March 12, when the passenger called the vehicle to return home after completing a professional service. The driver who arrived was a man, different from the woman registered on the platform, which generated immediate distrust.
The victim decided to enter Chevrolet Cobalt because the license plate and model exactly coincided with the data displayed in the application. Apesar of the discrepancy in the driver’s profile, she believed that it could be a momentary or family replacement of the registered driver. Assim who sat in the back seat, the man canceled the ride in the system and prevented her from leaving by violently pulling her by the arm.
Initial approach and distrust of the victim
The attacker was described as blond, tall, strong, with very fair skin and wearing braces. The passenger was surprised to see a man in the expected driver’s seat.
She chose to proceed anyway, considering that the vehicle was correct. The initial decision contributed to the development of events inside the car.
Sequence of attacks and demand for payment
The driver kept the victim under threat while driving through the streets of the capital of São Paulo. Ele informed that the trip would continue, but that payment should be made directly to him.
The pressure increased when the vehicle was stopped. The young woman was forced to open the bank’s app and make a transfer via Pix to a key linked to the driver’s registered account.
Injuries caused during the episode
After confirming the deposit, the man punched the passenger in the face, hitting the area close to the eye. The attack aggravated the existing pain in the arm, caused by the initial pull.
The victim suffered visible injuries to his face and arm. The physical impact was accompanied by strong emotional shock during and after the incident.
Main elements that draw attention to the case
- The vehicle and license plate exactly matched the application records
- The driver did not bear any resemblance to the photo of the registered driver
- The Pix key used in the transaction was linked to the woman’s account registered on the platform
- The race was canceled shortly after the passenger entered the car.
