Samsung Galaxy A55 and A56 receive security update with fixes for 65 flaws
Samsung has started global distribution of the March 2026 security update for mid-range models Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A56. The software package arrives to reinforce users’ protection against cyber intrusions and vulnerabilities, following the South Korean manufacturer’s monthly maintenance schedule.

Technical details about the fixed vulnerabilities
The new software build focuses exclusively on the security of the Samsung’s operating system and custom interface. In total, the March patch eliminates 65 security holes that could be exploited by malicious actors to compromise the device’s operation.
Of the flaws fixed, 60 are related to the system core Android, developed by Google, while another 5 are specific to the One UI, the customization layer of Samsung. Although the focus of this update is strictly security, owners of the Galaxy A55 and A56 models are awaiting news about the brand’s next big interface. One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, should bring advanced artificial intelligence features and significant visual changes, but is not yet present in this March package.
Industry experts indicate that Samsung is prioritizing system stability on mid-range devices before releasing the beta phase of the new interface for these models. The expectation is that the Galaxy A56 and the Galaxy A55 will join the list of devices eligible for the One UI 8.5 beta from the second quarter of 2026, possibly between the months of May and June.
