Samsung announces new stable release date for One UI 8.5 in May
Samsung continues to prepare to release the stable version of One UI 8.5 globally after missing the expected release deadline of the end of April. A leaker obtained information that distribution should begin on May 8, marking the end of one of the South Korean manufacturer’s longest beta versions.
The South Korean giant plans to publish an official schedule in the notice section of the Samsung Members app before starting the release process. Esse announcement will serve to inform users about specific arrival dates in different regions and cell phone models.
Série Galaxy S25 leads the queue for update
The first devices to receive One UI 8.5 will be the Galaxy S25 series, in addition to the foldable Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7. week after starting on Korean soil.
Contudo, distribution will not be simultaneous to all devices. A moderator from the Samsung Canadá community pointed out that a mass release for a wide range of models is unlikely. Isso suggests gradual delays depending on market and carrier, a common pattern in high-volume updates.
In practice, this staggered launch strategy could mean that Brazilian Galaxy S25s will only start receiving the stable One UI 8.5 at the end of May. Usuários in different countries will face different timelines based on regional and commercial factors.

Linha Galaxy S24 will receive update later
Modelos from the Galaxy S24 line and other cell phones from the Galaxy A family will have to wait longer. The update for these devices should arrive at the end of May, with a forecast of reaching the beginning of June.
Essa release sequence reflects Samsung’s priority to distribute the software first to its newer, more premium devices before expanding to older, more affordable models.
Contexto extended beta delay
One UI 8.5 represents an unusual case within the Samsung release calendar. The interface is in the tenth test build on the Galaxy S25, marking the manufacturer’s longest beta in recent years. Toda this delay in the stable release could make this version basically “close” to the release of One UI 9.0 with Android 17, further reducing the useful life of this intermediate update.
The successive delays generated speculation among users and analysts about possible technical problems or schedule adjustments. Samsung has not provided official explanations as to the reasons for the previous postponements, only remaining focused on ensuring quality before the final release.
Cronograma Expected Distribution
- May 6th to 8th: Initial Lançamento into Sul’s Coreia and possible expansion to select global markets
- May Fins: Galaxy S25 in markets as Brasil
- Fins from May to early June: Galaxy S24 and Galaxy A line
- Possível expansion: Outros models Samsung after completion of initial waves
The phased rollout strategy allows Samsung to monitor stability and collect feedback before expanding to an even larger user base. Esse model reduces risks of mass issues and allows for quick adjustments if necessary during the launch process.
