Nintendo launches Light Purple and Light Green Joy-Con for Switch 2 in February
Nintendo has revealed the first alternative color variants for the Joy-Con 2 controllers of the Switch 2 console. The new options, called Light Purple and Light Green, feature soft pastel tones reminiscent of violet and teal. The controllers will be available for purchase from February 12, 2026, coinciding with the launch of the Mario Tennis Fever game. Pre-orders are now open on the official Nintendo website and at select retailers.
Preço and availability of the new Joy-Con

Cada set includes one left, one right Joy-Con and corresponding straps in matching colors. The announcement was made through the Nintendo Today application, highlighting the design with a predominantly black body and colored accents on the analogue rings and sides. Essa approach maintains the minimalist aesthetic of Switch 2, where colors appear subtly when controls are connected to the console.

Design visual and generational differences
The new Joy-Con 2 follow the visual pattern of the Switch 2, with a black shell and colored details only on the stick rings and side tracks. Essa choice makes colors more visible when controls are used separately, such as in portable multiplayer modes. Quando attached to the console, the pastel tones create a discreet contrast with the device’s blue and orange internal bands.
Essa configuration differentiates the Joy-Con 2 from the original Switch models, which offered full colors in several variants over the years. Nintendo opted for a more uniform look to avoid confusion between generations of consoles and maintain the visual identity of the new hardware.
Mario Tennis Fever and exclusive features
The Mario Tennis Fever game arrives exclusively on Switch 2 on February 12, 2026, bringing the largest roster in the series with 38 playable characters. Entre new features include Goomba, Nabbit, Piranha Plant, Baby Wario and Baby Waluigi. The title introduces mechanics such as 30-foot Fever Rackets, which allow for disruptive effects in matches, as well as expanded online and local modes.
- Adventure mode for practicing and learning techniques.
- Online Room for casual matches with customizable rules.
- Ranked Matches for global competitions.
- Swing Mode with real Joy-Con 2 movements.
GameShare support allows up to three nearby players to participate using Switch or Switch 2 consoles without additional copying required. New Joy-Con colors round out the release, offering aesthetic options for fans looking to customize their controllers.
Especificações techniques maintained
Os Joy-Con 2 preserve all the technical characteristics of the standard versions. Eles include advanced motion controls, HD Rumble 2 and the C button for quick access to GameChat. Support for mouse controls in compatible games also remains intact. Cada pair comes ready for local multiplayer, with straps included and full compatibility with Switch 2 guaranteed for titles like Mario Tennis Fever, which exploits sensors for varied strikes.
Contexto price and recent adjustments
Os Joy-Con 2 in Light Purple and Light Green are priced at $99.99, up in August 2025 from the initial $94.99. Essa change affected several of the company’s products, including models of the original Switch, such as the standard now at $339.99, the OLED at $399.99, and the Lite at $299.99. Analistas attribute the adjustments to the impact of tariffs on imports from countries such as China, Japão and Vietnã, where much of the production takes place. The Switch 2 console has kept its launch price unchanged to date.
Desde the release of Switch 2 in June 2025, the Joy-Con were limited to Light Blue and Light Red colors. The new variants represent the first official expansion of cosmetic options for the console. Nintendo has already offered dozens of colors for Joy-Con from the original Switch, many linked to game releases. Para o Switch 2, the company adopts a more gradual approach, prioritizing clear differentiation between generations and maintaining a consistent visual identity of the new hardware.
