HP presented this Thursday (21) the StarBook Plus 14, an ultra-thin notebook that competes directly with the MacBook Neo from Apple. O dispositivo chega equipado com processador Intel Core 5 320 “Wildcat Lake”, tela OLED touchscreen de alta fidelidade e conexões variadas para oferecer alternativa competitiva no segmento de laptops portáteis. The suggested price for the China is 5,998 yuan, equivalent to approximately R$4,415.

Processador Intel Wildcat Lake brings comparable performance

The core of the StarBook Plus 14 is the Intel Core 5 320, part of the Wildcat Lake line aimed at affordable notebooks. The chip has a hybrid architecture composed of 2 high-performance P-Cores and 4 low-power E-Cores, operating at a maximum frequency of 4.6 GHz. Gráficos integrated Xe3 with 2 cores complete the processor specifications.

Previous Testess have indicated that this component pairs with the Apple A18 Pro used in the Neo MacBook, reducing the pure performance advantage that has historically differentiated the Maçã models. The processor works together with 16 GB of LPDDR5X memory and an expandable 512 GB SSD, maintaining parity with the direct competitor’s highest-value configuration.

Tela touch-sensitive OLED sets a visual difference

The StarBook Plus 14’s display represents one of the equipment’s main attractions. Trata is a touch-sensitive OLED panel with a 14-inch diagonal, native resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and 16:10 aspect ratio. The refresh rate is 60 Hz and color coverage reaches 100% of the DCI-P3 space, surpassing the IPS LCD panel found in the Neo MacBook in terms of color fidelity and contrast.

Peso and thickness reinforce the ultra-thin positioning: 1.3 kg on the scale and just 13.7 mm thick. Compact Dimensões that do not sacrifice the device’s connectivity, an aspect where HP differentiates itself from its direct competitors.

Conectividade wide in lean chassis

Apesar’s small dimensions, HP has integrated a significant variety of ports into the StarBook Plus 14:

  • 2 USB-A for traditional peripherals
  • 2 USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 of 10 Gbps with Power Delivery and DisplayPort support
  • 1 HDMI 2.1 for connection to monitors and televisions
  • 1 3.5mm jack for headphones and microphone

Esta number of inputs surpasses many premium models on the market, facilitating integration with accessories without the need for additional adapters.

Fast Bateria and integrated webcam

The 59 Wh battery offers autonomy compatible with the portable use profile, supporting fast charging with a 65 W source. Webcam HD follows the package of known specifications, equipped with an infrared sensor for facial biometric authentication and a physical privacy cover to protect personal data during video conferences.

Global Presença depends on Computex 2026

The initial launch takes place on China with a suggested price of 5,998 yuan (~R$4,415). Ainda although official information about availability in other countries is absent, the device’s chassis already bears the name “OmniBook 5”, a brand used globally by HP for the StarBook series. Este detail suggests that HP intends to expand the model’s reach to international markets in the coming months.

Computex 2026, the main computing technology event scheduled for early June, should bring additional announcements about the global distribution strategy and possible regional variants of the StarBook Plus 14.
