Departamento of Defesa of Estados Unidos released this Friday (22) a new set of files on alleged sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs). The documents contain reports from individuals who claim to have observed mysterious green spheres, discs and fireballs in American territory.

Esta is the second batch of documents released by the US government, following an executive order from President Donald Trump. The initiative is part of a process of declassification of government records on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), which began in the 1970s, seeking greater transparency for the population.

Conteúdo from declassified reports

One of the 222 files released in this batch details 116 pages of documentation relating to a series of sightings and investigations conducted at a top-secret facility located in Sandia, in the state of Novo México. The events occurred between the years 1948 and 1950, a period of great activity in post-war military research and development. Departamento of Defesa reported that this specific file includes 209 consistent reports of ‘green orbs’, ‘disks’ and ‘fireballs’ observed in the vicinity of this military base.

Outro relevant case described in the documents involved the crew of the Apollo 12 Moon Landing space mission. Durante a medical evaluation upon return, Charles Commander “Pete” Conrad, Richard Command Module Pilot “Dick” Gordon, and Alan Lunar Module Pilot Bean reported seeing flashes or “luminous trails.” Esses phenomena were noticed while astronauts tried to sleep in a dark environment, generating internal discussions about their nature and origin.

Iniciativa government transparency Trump

The release of these documents follows the line of an initial package of files already released on May 8, complying with an express order from the President of the United States, Donald Trump. Naquela On this occasion, Estados Unidos also created a dedicated website, WAR.GOV/UFO, which serves as a repository for the “Anômalos Não Identificados Phenomena”. Defesa’s secretary, Pete Hegseth, defended the initiative, stating that documents, photographs and videos on the subject had fueled speculation for too long.

“It’s time for the American people to see this for themselves,” Hegseth stated in an official statement. In February, Donald Trump had instructed his government to make public materials pertaining to “alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).” Departamento of Guerra took the opportunity to highlight that the Trump administration “promotes unprecedented transparency” about UAP, criticizing previous administrations for “seeking to discredit and dissuade the American people” regarding the issue.

Caracterização of Fenômenos Anômalos Não Identificados

The nomenclature “Anômalos Não Identificados Phenomena” (UAP) is used by the US government to describe observations that cannot be immediately explained by conventional data. Isso means that, although the origin has not been identified, the presence of extraterrestrial life is not automatically inferred, only that it has not been possible to determine a plausible explanation for what was observed. The archived materials, according to Departamento of Guerra, refer to “unsolved” cases, indicating that the nature of the observed phenomena could not be definitively determined.

Departamento from Guerra US encourages the application of private sector analysis, information and expertise to assist in understanding these phenomena. Além further stated that it will continue to produce separate reports on UAP cases that are resolved, thereby enhancing public understanding of these events.

The released documents cover different types of sightings and investigations, including:

  • Orbes greens, discs and fireballs:Relatados in 209 occurrences at the military base of Sandia, Novo México, between 1948 and 1950.
  • Flashes or light trails:Observados by Apollo 12 astronauts, Charles “Pete” Conrad, Richard “Dick” Gordon and Alan L. Bean, during mission Moon Landing.
  • Imagens infrared sensors:Capturadas by Estados Unidos military platforms in various operations.

Imagens infrared sensor revealed

The images revealed in the second batch of files were likely obtained by infrared sensors aboard Estados Unidos military platforms. Elas show unidentified aerial phenomena recorded in different areas of responsibility of military commands. One of the videos was captured in 2022, in the US Comando Central area of responsibility.

Outra image dates from 2021, also in the US Comando Central area, while a third was recorded in 2023, under the responsibility of US Comando Norte. Todos these videos were submitted by users to a confidential network, in June 2024 for the former and in February 2023 for the latter. The release of these images adds a visual layer to the documented accounts, contributing to the government’s transparency effort.
