Woman reports ex for stalking 5 days before being thrown off a cliff in MG

Ana Cláudia Rodrigues of Silva Souza, 41, went to the police on May 20 reporting threats and harassment from Araújo’s ex-partner Silvanildo Amâncio, 52. Cinco days later, she disappeared after dropping her daughter off at school. The man confessed to having kidnapped his ex and throwing the woman off a cliff in Serra of Rola-Moça, in Belo Horizonte. Ana Cláudia was found alive on May 26, trapped in vegetation in an area that was difficult to access.

Silvanildo was located in Palma’s Várzea, Minas’s Norte, and arrested. Ele admitted the kidnapping and cliff crime to Polícia Civil. The victim survived more than 24 hours at the scene before the rescue coordinated by firefighters and military police.

The police report was registered on the night of May 20th at 7:40 pm at the police station. Ana Cláudia reported a 12-year relationship with the accused and reported that he began pursuing her 4 months ago, after the relationship ended in February. The woman requested an urgent protective measure when describing her fear.

The two share a 9-year-old daughter. Ana Cláudia works as a day laborer in different neighborhoods of Belo Horizonte and it was in this context that he faced episodes of persecution.

• On May 20, he picked up his daughter from school and started an argument when he returned her to her grandmother’s house.

Ana Cláudia disappeared on May 25th in the morning. Silvanildo informed relatives that he had kidnapped the woman and was going to throw her off a cliff at Serra of Rola-Moça.

Equipes of Corpo of Bombeiros and Polícia Militar began intensive searches with drones and aircraft. Ana Cláudia was located alive on the morning of May 26, trapped in vegetation in an area that was very difficult to access.

Prisão and confession of the accused
