Nintendo held another edition of Nintendo Direct this Tuesday (9), bringing a series of announcements for fans of the brand. The presentation took place right after the Summer Game Fest and lived up to expectations by highlighting the future of the Nintendo Switch 2.
The Nintendo Switch 2, which is approaching its first year on the market, has received several new features. Among the highlights of the broadcast is the confirmation of several titles for the console, including the long-awaited remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Kingdom Hearts IV.
Rhythm Heaven Groove is announced with over 80 musical minigames
Nintendo started the presentation with a new game aimed at the original Nintendo Switch. Titled Rhythm Heaven Groove, the title of the traditional rhythm series brings a striking cartoon style and challenges that require precision when pressing buttons in time with the music to progress through the stages.
The game includes more than 80 varied minigames, each with specific mechanics and themes. The trailer featured everything from a frog jumping to the beat of the soundtrack to fighting monsters with synchronized spells. Rhythm Heaven Groove arrives on Nintendo Switch on July 2nd.
Onimusha: The Way of the Sword gets trailer for Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo then showed a new trailer for Onimusha: The Way of the Sword, confirming the arrival of the Capcom game on the Nintendo Switch 2. The material presented previously unreleased snippets of gameplay and demonstrated adaptations to the new console’s features.
In addition to visual and performance improvements, the Switch 2 version will have optimized controls, offering new combat interactions. Onimusha: The Way of the Sword will be released on September 25th, with digital pre-orders now available.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2
Capcom returned to the presentation to announce Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on the Nintendo Switch 2. The action RPG received a trailer that showed parts of the adventure and confirmed its presence on the Nintendo console.
The version arrives as an expanded edition, with additional content and optimizations for the more advanced hardware of the Switch 2. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is scheduled for release on October 9th.
Stellar Blade is announced for Nintendo Switch 2 and arrives in 2026
One of the surprises was the confirmation of Stellar Blade for the Nintendo Switch 2. The Shift Up action game received a trailer as an introduction to the story for the platform’s audience.
Known for its intense hack and slash combat, the title follows Eve on a journey against creatures in post-apocalyptic scenarios. Stellar Blade arrives on Switch 2 sometime in 2026, with no exact date revealed.
Orbitals revealed as new co-op exclusive for Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo has introduced Orbitals, a new two-player cooperative game with an emphasis on teamwork and creative challenges. The trailer highlighted a mix of platform, rhythm and other mechanics for double fun.
The title will have split-screen multiplayer and GameShare support, facilitating sessions with friends. Orbitals will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and arrives on September 3rd.
Rayman Legends Retold gets trailer and release date on Switch 2
Ubisoft showed a new trailer for Rayman Legends Retold, a remake of the classic platformer with a renewed look and extra content. The video showcased remade scenarios, updated animations and original gameplay.
The version includes support for local multiplayer and GameShare. Rayman Legends Retold arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1st.
Big Walk mixes co-op exploration and proximity chat on Switch 2
Nintendo highlighted independent productions with Big Walk, an online cooperative game focused on exploration and interaction. The title differentiates itself by proximity voice chat, which allows natural conversations as players get closer or further away.
The trailer showed a colorful world with activities and challenges that encourage communication. Big Walk will have cross-play and compatibility with the Switch 2’s mouse mode, launching on August 4th.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet puts players in Sanji’s kitchen
One Piece fans got One Piece: Grand Gourmet, a game that puts the player in the role of Sanji managing a restaurant. With pixel art graphics and a focus on management, the title allows you to explore regions for ingredients, cook and renovate the establishment.
The adventure includes more than 400 characters from the universe and supports mouse mode. The release is scheduled for October 23rd on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
Pokémon Pokopia receives underwater expansion and new content pass
Pokémon Pokopia, one of the great recent successes, has been updated with new underwater areas for exploring new environments, creatures and secrets.
In addition to the free update arriving in August 2026, the Bubbly Basin expansion pass was revealed, now available. The content features a new city, new Pokémon, clothes and activities, with parts 2 and 3 scheduled for the future.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave gets new trailer and release date
Nintendo showed more of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, highlighting narrative and strategic combat. The trailer revealed the four protagonists and clues about conflicts, as well as gameplay on Switch 2.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17th.
Ninjala 2 announced for Switch 2 with open world and online co-op
Ninjala 2 brings evolution with a vast open world, colorful scenarios and art direction that takes advantage of the Switch 2. The trailer highlighted exploration, dynamic combat and support for online cooperation.
The sequel arrives exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
Nintendo announces DK Challenge Event for Switch Online subscribers
Nintendo has revealed the DK Challenge Event for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. The event encourages revisiting games from the Donkey Kong franchise with themed challenges and digital rewards.
The event is now available and runs until September 1st. Donkey Kong Bananza players still get collaboration with Super Mario, with plumber skins in four waves starting today.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Rumble Survivaton revealed for Nintendo Switch 2
The creators of Vampire Survivors have announced Jujutsu Kaisen: Rumble Survivaton, inspired by the anime and manga. The game focuses on survival and action with characters from the work in chaotic matches.
The title supports up to eight players online, with offline modes available. Jujutsu Kaisen: Rumble Survivaton arrives on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in 2026.
