A tragedy shook the city of Massachusetts, in the United States, where a 25-year-old woman lost her life in a fatal accident. Chloe Smith, who had fulfilled her desire to acquire her own horse farm a few weeks ago, passed away after an incident during a ride on Friday (5), succumbing to her injuries.
As reported by the Itemlive portal, Chloe was participating in a horse ride with friends when she was suddenly thrown from the saddle. The horse soon fell on her, resulting in her death and, tragically, also the death of the animal, which suffered a serious neck injury.
A Swampscott resident, Chloe was quickly transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she died hours later surrounded by her loved ones. The young woman’s obituary highlighted that she had recently achieved one of the biggest goals of her life: buying a farm with a stable dedicated to her horses, a dream that became reality shortly before the incident.
Fulfillment of a great desire interrupted by fate
The young woman had moved to her new rural property just seven days before the tragic accident. There, she cared for a total of 18 animals, passionately dedicating herself to this interest that had accompanied her since childhood. Her family said that Chloe was an excellent equestrian and loved sharing her knowledge, teaching riding to beginners.
“In a cruel irony of fate, she had just achieved what she most wanted in life”, described her obituary, reinforcing that the young woman “departed long before her time”. This excerpt highlights the depth of the loss and the devastating timing of the event.
In a statement given to Itemlive, Abbe Smith, the victim’s mother, highlighted her daughter’s intense connection with horses, her great passion.
“She loved it. She loved everything about horses,” Abbe Smith told local media.
Speaking about the newly acquired farm, the mother revealed that Chloe had plans to live there forever.
“She said she wanted to live there for the rest of her life. She wanted to get married there,” her mother recalled.
Chloe’s siblings also highlighted her devotion to animals. Andrew Smith mentioned that his sister was extremely happy to open her own stable a few weeks ago. Hayley Gray, in turn, described her as a person always willing to take on new adventures.
Chloe’s last post on her digital platforms showed her equestrian and offering technical advice on an exercise involving obstacles. She was the youngest member among four siblings.
