Pokémon Pokopia, the life and construction simulator released in March 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, has just received a paid expansion pack. The Expansion Pass, now available on the Nintendo eShop, will be divided into three parts and adds a new underwater city, new Pokémon in the adventure and decoration features.
Part 1, called Bubbly Basin, arrives in August 2026 and takes players to an oceanic environment where it is possible to find marine Pokémon, under-the-sea-themed furniture and new clothes for Ditto, the game’s protagonist.
At the same time, a free version 2.0 update, also scheduled for August, releases the Diving movement for all owners of the base game. With it, Ditto will be able to explore underwater areas, decorate and build with more freedom. To unlock, simply complete the mission “Level up the environment!” in Bleak Beach, in addition to mastering the Pulo and Surf movements.
Part 2 is expected to bring new features and crafting recipes in late 2026. Part 3, scheduled for 2027, introduces another city and more exciting new features. All pass content uses existing saves, no need to start from scratch.
Those who purchase the Expansion Pass now receive immediate bonuses: a recipe for Ditto printing blocks and dynamic wallpaper, as well as 30 rare Pokémetal ingots via email to use in crafting. The codes have a redemption deadline until September 2027.
Consolidated success drives extra content
Released on March 5, 2026, Pokémon Pokopia has established itself as one of the best-rated titles in the franchise, with an average rating of 89 on Metacritic and praise for the relaxing experience of building and interacting with Pokémon. The game transformed the concept of “simulated life” by putting the player in the role of a Ditto rebuilding a charming world.
The Expansion Pass arrives as a way to extend this experience for those who have already been involved with the title, adding layers of aquatic exploration that many fans have been asking for since launch.
How to access content
- The pass is on sale on the eShop.
- Purchase bonuses are redeemed through the in-game Downloadable Content menu.
- The free update with Diving will be automatic for anyone who has the game.
The announcement reinforces The Pokémon Company’s commitment to supporting Pokémon Pokopia with post-launch content, keeping the community active on Switch 2.
