The game marks the debut of the seriesTales of Eterniainto the Nintendo ecosystem, after being exclusive to PlayStation for over 25 years. The announcement confirms rumors that have been circulating since April, when a PEGI rating was temporarily leaked.

Return of a 2000 classic

Tales of Eternia(known asTales of Destiny IIin North America) was originally released for PlayStation in November 2000 in Japan. The story follows Reid Hershel and Farah Oersted, from Inferia, who meet Meredy, a girl from Celestia, on a journey to stop the “Great Fall”, a catastrophic collision between the two worlds.

The remaster brings visual enhancements, gameplay updates, and quality of life features. The A-LMBS (Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System) battle system gains greater speed, fluid combos and options such as deactivating random encounters, destination markers and high speed mode.

Confirmed improvements and platforms

In addition to high-definition visuals and upgradable sound effects (with the option to switch to the original style), the game allows you to switch between graphical modes. The title will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and PC via Steam.

This is another delivery from Bandai Namco’s remastering project, which has already brought titles such asTales of Symphonia Remastered, Tales of Graces f Remastered e Tales of Berseria Remastered. The timing coincides with the series’ 30th anniversary celebrationsTales.
