The Brazilian team experienced a special moment this Wednesday (10) during the preparation for the World Cup. Shortly before the journalists left the field, filmmaker Spike Lee arrived at the New York Red Bulls training center, in Morristown, in the United States, invited by the CBF.

The 69-year-old director, New York resident and cinema icon, was quickly surrounded by reporters. When asked about Neymar, he didn’t hesitate: “That’s my guy!” The phrase livened up the atmosphere in CT.

Spike Lee attended part of the activity, which was also attended by sponsors and other guests from the Confederation. The training was led by Carlo Ancelotti, who celebrated his birthday this Wednesday.

While the Seleção focuses on its debut against Morocco, on Saturday (13), at 7pm (Brasília time), in New Jersey, Spike Lee has another great passion on his radar. A fanatical fan of the New York Knicks, he should watch Game 4 of the NBA Finals, with the New York team able to take a 3-1 lead against the San Antonio Spurs.

The filmmaker’s visit reinforces the World Cup atmosphere in the United States, where Brazil is looking to win six. Ancelotti, the first foreign coach to lead the national team at a World Cup, has used the preparation days to adjust the team to more closed activities.

The squad arrives at their debut after a good run of friendlies and with high expectations. Morocco, African runner-up, promises to be a tough opponent at the New York/New Jersey Stadium.
