Xiaomi has just introduced its latest product in the drinking device category, introducing the Mijia Portable Coffee Machine. This battery-operated equipment was designed to meet the needs of those looking for espresso on the go, whether traveling, camping, outdoor adventures or in the corporate environment.
This new device integrates the complexity of a traditional benchtop machine into a discreet, cylindrical design. Its appearance resembles a thermos, making it practical to take anywhere.

The exterior of the device was designed to offer safety during movement and comfort in everyday use. Measuring 24.5 centimeters high and 7.15 centimeters wide, its cylindrical shape fits perfectly in travel backpacks or vehicle cup holders.
The robustness of the structure is attested by IP55 certification, guaranteeing its ability to resist the ingress of dust and protecting it against low-pressure water jets, light rain or unexpected splashes in external contexts.
20 bar pump and adaptable system for capsules or powder
At the heart of its extraction mechanism, Xiaomi has incorporated an electromagnetic pump that generates pressure of up to 20 bar. This strength is comparable to the performance of conventional espresso machines for home use, ensuring optimal extraction of oils and the formation of the coveted crema layer in the coffee.
The brewing chamber is designed for versatility, accepting both standard sized coffee capsules and ground coffee, allowing the user to choose according to their preference or whatever is available. To facilitate maintenance, the entire extraction section is removable, enabling quick and efficient cleaning under running water.
Technology to maintain the ideal coffee temperature
To manage water temperature, the Mijia portable coffee maker uses a built-in ceramic heating system, which operates in conjunction with an advanced PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) algorithm.
This electronic component continuously monitors heat fluctuations, ensuring that the water reaches and maintains precisely 92°C during infusion, which is recognized as the ideal temperature to preserve the flavor and prevent the powder from burning. The machine is capable of performing both hot and cold extractions, with each standard cycle completing in approximately 45 seconds.
Different usage modes and battery life for the portable coffee
Power is provided by a set of three lithium-ion batteries, each with 2,500 mAh, totaling a total capacity of 7,500 mAh. The efficiency and duration of the charge directly depend on the preparation method selected by the user.
When operated in Pure Extraction Mode, in which the reservoir is filled with already heated water, battery consumption is limited to the 20 bar electromagnetic pump. Under these high-efficiency conditions, the device can brew an impressive 400 cups of coffee before needing a refill.
However, when choosing the Internal Heating Mode, where the water is inserted cold or at room temperature, the ceramic heater is activated to raise the temperature to 92°C. Due to the significant energy expenditure of this heating process, the battery’s autonomy decreases drastically, allowing the extraction of just over three cups per charge cycle.
The battery is recharged via the USB-C port, which supports 45W fast charging. This technological standard allows the battery to be charged from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes, and full charge is reached in 80 minutes. An additional advantage is the ability to run directly from powerful power banks while on the move, thanks to the universality of the connection.

The coffee maker will be sold as a comprehensive set, eliminating the need to purchase additional accessories for its fundamental operation. The package includes an impact-resistant carrying case, an aluminum alloy stand, a specific metal container for ground coffee, a measuring spoon and a double-walled thermally insulated stainless steel cup.

The Mijia Portable Coffee Machine will be launched in the Chinese market first. The product will be available for crowdfunding on the official Xiaomi Mall and Xiaomi Youpin platforms, starting on June 17, 2026. After the pre-sale period, the suggested retail price for China will be ¥799, which is equivalent to approximately R$610.
During the launch campaign, early buyers will have the opportunity to purchase the device for a promotional price of ¥559, equivalent to around R$425. Xiaomi has not yet provided details or timelines for the coffee maker’s global distribution in other regions.
