A recent promotional image for the film Spider-Man: A New Day was released last Friday (12), showing the character Hulk prominently. He appears accompanied by other antagonists from the production, forming a group that was called “Spider-Foes”, or Spider-Enemies, indicating a new front of threats in the cinematic universe.

In addition to the Emerald Giant, the concept art featured well-known comic book figures such as Scorpion, Boomerang and Tarantula. The presence of these characters suggests a robust cast of opponents for the stubborn hero, promising great challenges for Peter Parker.

The main cast will once again feature Tom Holland as the protagonist, Jacob Batalon as Ned and Zendaya returning as MJ. Among the confirmed new additions, Sadie Sink, from Stranger Things, will have an unrevealed role, although there is strong speculation that it will be Jean Grey. Jon Bernthal is also confirmed as the Punisher. Notably, Mark Ruffalo will guest star as Hulk, and the film will mark the first time his Gray counterpart has appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a significant development for the character.

The official synopsis for Spider-Man: A New Day has been revealed, detailing the central narrative. The plot unfolds four years after the events of No Return Home, with Peter Parker as an isolated adult, who voluntarily erased himself from the memories of his loved ones. He plays a full-time Spider-Man in New York, a city that no longer remembers him. However, the increased demands on the hero trigger a surprising physical transformation that puts his own life at risk, while a peculiar series of crimes culminates in the emergence of one of the most formidable threats he has ever encountered.

The direction of the project is in the hands of Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Screenwriters Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who collaborated on Spider-Man: No Way Home, also wrote the script for this new feature film, ensuring creative continuity in the hero’s franchise.

Previously, there had been speculation about a more realistic approach to the film, with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil joining forces to battle the Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio. However, this narrative line was discarded. Rumors also pointed to Knull, the character played by Andy Serkis in Venom: The Last Round, as the main antagonist. All these possibilities were, however, abandoned by the production, which opted for a different path for the story.

The long-awaited production Spider-Man: A New Day is scheduled to premiere on July 29, 2026, with a confirmed release in Brazilian cinemas, generating great expectations among fans of the superhero.
