Harry and Meghan return to the UK with their children for their first visit in four years, media reports
Prince Harry, youngest son of King Charles III, is expected to travel to the United Kingdom in July. The visit will include his wife, Meghan Markle, and the couple’s two children, marking the family’s first return in a period of four years, as reported by the British press last Wednesday (17).
The Duchess and Duke of Sussex have established residence in California, United States, since 2020, following their step back from their duties as senior royals. It remains uncertain whether Harry, Meghan and the children will meet King Charles III and Queen Camilla during their stay.
The prince’s children, Archie, who is seven years old, and Lilibet, five, had their last personal contact with their grandfather in 2022. The occasion was during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which marked the 70 years of reign of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
International media indicate that the couple is organizing this trip as part of preparations for the Invictus Games. The event is scheduled to take place in Birmingham, located in central England, in July 2027.
Created by Prince Harry himself in 2014, the Invictus Games are a sporting competition for military personnel and war veterans. The event brings together participants from approximately 25 countries who have suffered injuries, injuries or illnesses during service.
Even in the face of the well-known public distance from the royal family, Harry reaffirmed their connection. In an interview given in Ukraine for a British television station, he declared at the end of April that he will “always” be “part of the royal family”.
He and his wife, Meghan Markle, made the decision to step down from their official roles within the British monarchy in 2020.
