Opel Combo Start expands offers for corporate customers with affordable and flexible utility for everyday life
From autumn, the market will receive the new Opel Combo Start, which will position itself as a remarkably economical alternative in the compact light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment. Designed to meet the needs of corporate clients, the utility stands out not only for its competitive value, but also for its unique aesthetics and high adaptability to professional routines. Differentiators include the Flexiseat system, which optimizes cargo space on the passenger side, and innovations such as Modutable and a new compartment under the driver’s seat. Additionally, the model will offer a diverse range of engines, ranging from pure electric options to diesel and gasoline engines, with a 48V hybrid version scheduled for 2027.
The striking design and flexible innovations of the Opel Combo Start
The new Opel Combo Start instantly imposes its presence in the world of commercial vehicles. The front part of the utility vehicle, with its vigorous and notable bumper design, clearly signals its suitability for demanding work. Inside, the experience is similar. The cabin, optimized for the driver, incorporates an updated instrument panel and new door coverings, increasing strength and comfort, while maximizing the use of available space. Therefore, functionality is an essential priority for Combo Start, serving effectively in deliveries, construction sites and fleets of all sizes.
The entire cabin was designed with a focus on versatility. This feature is most evident on the passenger side, which has been reinvented with the introduction of the Flexiseat. An exclusive feature in its category, the Flexiseat consists of an individual modular seat whose cushion can be raised, expanding the load volume by 0.5 m³. This ingenious solution frees up area on the passenger floor, ideal for transporting parcels, toolboxes or other essential work accessories. Additionally, the interior of the vehicle has a 230 V Schuko socket, making it easy to charge electronic equipment such as tablets and laptops at any time.
To complement the range of features, the Modutable, an optional item positioned on the passenger side, acts as a multifunctional support platform, transforming into a mobile office or even a dining table. This innovation, also developed specifically for Combo Start, will be available from autumn. The surface is perfectly suited to serve as a small desk for laptops, and drinks can be accommodated in the cup holder. A safety net installed under the Modutable prevents items from moving from the cargo area into the passenger’s footwell to the driver during the journey. In a future development, ModutablePlus will offer a sealed vertical compartment, ideal for A4 format documents, as an alternative to mesh. When inactive, the Modutable can be discreetly retracted behind the divider in the cargo compartment, optimizing space.
In addition to these features, Combo Start incorporates other innovative elements:
- Dashbox:The panel includes extra compartments at the top, perfect for storing frequently used objects on a daily basis.
- Drawer under the driver’s seat:An additional discreet drawer is ideal for storing items such as notepads and tablets in the hidden area under the driver’s seat.
- Moduconsole:This center console, designed to be removable and adjustable, offers a cup holder and a lockable storage compartment.
- Moduwork:This option adds a third center seat. When not in use, the seat can be reconfigured or used as a pass-through to facilitate the transport of longer items.

Diversity of engines and capabilities already recognized
Another significant benefit of Combo Start lies in its wide selection of propulsion systems, which suit diverse applications and user requirements. The Combo Start Electric version, fully electric, equipped with a 100 kW (136 hp) engine and a 42 kWh battery (useful capacity), promises to optimize the professional routine, providing substantial autonomy and no local emissions, reaching up to 270 kilometers (WLTP¹). For those who prefer other options, there are 74 kW (100 hp) and 96 kW (130 hp) diesel engines, or an 81 kW (110 hp) gasoline unit. These combustion engines, which stand out for their efficiency, are always paired with a manual transmission. From 2027, a 48V hybrid configuration will also join the range.
Even with all these new features, companies will not need to give up established qualities. The new Combo Start maintains the robust attributes that characterize the Combo line. Traditionally, the vehicle will be offered in two length options. It also provides up to 4.4 m³ of load capacity and, depending on the engine chosen, supports a payload of up to one ton. In this way, the Opel Combo Start, which can be ordered from autumn, combines its well-known adaptability with innovative internal resources, presenting an extremely advantageous cost-benefit ratio.
