A proposal from Arsenal to acquire striker Jeremy Monga, just 16 years old, was initially rejected by Leicester, but the London club is preparing a new offer in its search for young talent for the next season of English football.

Despite his young age, Monga consolidated his presence in Leicester’s first team during last season, accumulating 37 appearances. The club’s situation, relegated to the third national division, intensifies the need to negotiate athletes to comply with financial regulations, which can influence negotiations.

Currently, the young striker has a training contract. However, there is a clause that establishes his automatic transition to a professional contract on July 10th, the date on which he turns 17, guaranteeing Leicester the possibility of receiving financial compensation for his departure.

There is still no clear definition regarding Monga’s future at Arsenal, if the signing takes place. The options under analysis include direct integration into the main squad or a possible loan, aiming to continue their technical and tactical improvement.

In addition to Monga, Arsenal are showing interest in another young talent, Elijah Upson, 18, son of former England player Matthew Upson. The midfielder turned down a professional offer from Tottenham and is expected to leave the club at the end of his contract at the end of June.
