Prince William reveals passion for gardening that brings Kate Middleton and children together in their free moments
Prince William shared rare details about family life with Kate Middleton and their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis. Away from official commitments, the heir to the British throne revealed a hobby that has become a point of unity for everyone: gardening.
During an official visit to the Apricot Centre, located in Devon, England, the prince had the opportunity to learn about the farm’s sustainable projects. It was in this context that he mentioned his children’s passion for growing food at home.
In a conversation with Rachel Phillips, who manages the center, William explained that children have fun planting strawberries, raspberries and lettuce. The family maintains a small vegetable garden at Anmer Hall, their estate in Norfolk, where they often spend their holidays.
With good humor, the Prince of Wales commented on the challenge of getting his children to wait for the plants to grow before eating everything they harvest. This activity is part of the family’s most private moments, demonstrating a connection with nature and the creation process, teaching children the value of effort and patience from an early age.
Interest in gardening seems to be a family tradition. Previously, Kate Middleton had already spoken about her children’s dedication to growing food. King Charles III himself is widely recognized for his deep passion for gardens, especially the lush spaces of his Highgrove residence.
Cousins Archie and Lilibet, children of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, also share the same hobby. In a podcast, Meghan highlighted how gardening is beneficial for children, helping them understand the intrinsic value of things and developing patience. She emphasized the importance of understanding that food and good manners have a value, especially for those in privileged homes.
Recently, Princes George, Charlotte and Louis were in the spotlight when they appeared alongside their parents during the Trooping the Color event. The traditional celebration is held in honor of the official birthday of the British monarch.
