The next version of the One UI 9 interface, developed by Samsung, is in the final testing phase and promises to integrate an innovative security feature, initially aimed at the South Korean company’s foldable smartphone models.

The highlight is the implementation of “Phishing App Risk Alert”, a tool designed to stop the execution of applications classified as dangerous on future devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, protecting users.

To ensure the efficiency of this protection barrier, the functionality will constantly scan, comparing information with the Galaxy Store database to detect and flag software with questionable behavior.

When identifying an attempt to open an application that poses a risk, the device will be able to prevent its operation and guide the user to immediately remove the installed program.

Additionally, Samsung will incorporate a detailed analysis of the applications’ behavior, tracking whether the installation occurred via remote control software or whether it coincided with the receipt of a call possibly linked to phishing attempts.

This action is part of a robust digital security plan, which the technology giant has been improving in partnership with government institutions in South Korea, such as the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA). The significant increase in scams and cyber threats in recent years is driving the continued development of these defenses to protect a growing number of consumers.

Among the innovations already present are systems to block dangerous messages and Intelligent Blocking, a solution that uses artificial intelligence specially trained to categorize financial fraud and smishing scams.

A notable evolution in Samsung’s security strategy is Call Screening, a feature that uses the Galaxy AI assistant to answer calls, offering an instant summary of the content of the conversation, allowing the user to decide whether to continue with the interaction.

With the imminent arrival of One UI 9, the expectation is that all these advanced security features will also extend to Samsung’s most popular smartphone models, responding to the alarming growth in digital scams.

The official presentation of the new interface is scheduled for next month, coinciding with the launch of the brand’s new foldable devices.
