Anvisa expands release for Ypê products after delivery of new reports
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) extended this Monday (22) permission for the sale of more Ypê brand items. The measure authorizes the sale and use of detergents and disinfectants produced from January 1, 2026.
According to the regulatory agency, the most recent authorization was granted after the company delivered technical reports that attested to the compliance of all batches of detergents and disinfectants manufactured in January and February 2026. Therefore, the sales ban persists only for products from these lines manufactured until December 31, 2025.
Anvisa also announced that the company will spontaneously recall liquid laundry soaps, specifically those with the final digit 1 in their batches, manufactured until March 31st of this year. The reason for maintaining the suspension of these items was not detailed by the agency, and Ypê did not provide information about the collection method.
Return to the Ypê detergents and disinfectants market
The agency indicated that the product recall procedure is part of the Risk Management and Mitigation Plan, which was submitted by the company.
The determinations issued this Monday update the resolutions released the previous week. On the previous occasion, Anvisa had authorized the sale of detergents and disinfectants produced from March onwards, while maintaining the suspension of washing machines manufactured before April.
This new decision reviews the limitations applied to Química Amparo, the company responsible for the Ypê brand, which had been imposed in May. At that time, the suspension affected detergents, disinfectants and washing machines with batches completed in 1, all produced at the Amparo manufacturing unit, in the state of São Paulo.
The situation began in November 2025, when the regulatory agency ordered the recall of several batches of liquid washing machines from Ypê, after the detection of sanitary non-conformities. In April 2026, the restriction was expanded to include detergents and disinfectants manufactured in the same Amparo unit.
In inspections carried out at the factory, Anvisa revealed the existence of structural and operational flaws, in addition to batches contaminated by the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This bacterium is known for its resistance to antibiotics and high lethality in hospital environments, posing a significant risk in household products if present at inadequate levels. Since detection, the company has sent laboratory reports and promoted changes to its production structure to achieve the progressive release of its products.

Identifying the products affected by the measure
For the consumer to determine whether their product is on the list, it is essential to check the batch number and manufacturing date printed on the packaging. If the detergent or disinfectant has a finished batch of 1 and was manufactured before December 31, 2025, it falls under Anvisa’s restrictions and its use is not recommended. Regarding washing machines, if the batch ends in 1 and production is prior to April 1, 2026, the customer must contact Ypê to request collection. Generally, the batch number is marked with the letter “L”, and the date of manufacture appears next to it.
Recommendation for consumers with suspended products
Anvisa’s guidance is that users immediately stop using the specific affected lots and contact Ypê’s Consumer Service (SAC) to obtain the necessary instructions on the return and collection process.
For refund questions, the company’s official communication channels include the telephone number 0800-1300544, available from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm (except holidays), and the official website www.ype.ind.br/contato/sac.. There is the option of providing the Pix key to facilitate the refund, and presenting the invoice is optional.
To date, Ypê has not disclosed specific procedures on how consumers should request the collection of suspended products that have already been purchased.
What to do after using products that were suspended
Out of caution, consumers may choose to rewash clothing, utensils or surfaces that have had direct contact with any product that has been suspended, especially if there are signs of irritation or changes in the item’s odor, color or texture. However, there are no recommendations that suggest the need to discard household objects that have been cleaned with these products.
Impacted batches, on the other hand, should not be discarded in general waste, as per Anvisa guidelines, to prevent contamination of other environments. It is recommended that products be stored in a safe place until the manufacturer provides instructions on recall, or until new tests confirm the safety of the sanitizers.
