Line-up confirmed Panama x Croatia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup
Panama and Croatia take to the field with the confirmed lineups for the clash in the second round of Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The duel will take place at BMO Field, in Toronto, Canada, starting at 8pm (Brasília time).
The Panamanian team, led by Thomas Christiansen, uses a 3-4-3 formation. Orlando Mosquera is in goal. The defense features César Blackman, José Córdoba and Jiovany Ramos. In the middle, Amir Murillo, Cristian Martínez, Carlos Harvey and Andrés Andrade. In attack, Yoel Bárcenas (captain), José Luis Rodríguez and Cecilio Waterman.
On the Croatian side, Zlatko Dalić opted for 4-2-3-1. Dominik Livaković is the goalkeeper. The defensive line has Josip Stanišić, Josip Šutalo, Duje Ćaleta-Car and Joško Gvardiol. Luka Modrić, the captain, forms the middle with Mateo Kovačić. Martin Baturina, Ivan Perišić and Ante Budimir complete the starting lineup.
Both teams arrive under pressure after defeats in their debut. Panama lost 1-0 to Ghana, with a goal in stoppage time. Croatia fell 4-2 to England, despite good ball possession. In the Group L table, England and Ghana have four points each, while Panama and Croatia remain with zero.
The Panamanian coach is looking for the first victory in the country’s history in World Cups. Christiansen is betting on the speed of the attackers and the solidity of the defense to surprise the more experienced Croatia. Dalić, on the other hand, can count on the leadership of Modrić, who is playing in one of the last World Cups of his career and has played almost 200 games for the national team.
Importance of the result for Group L
A victory puts the winner alive in the fight for a place in the round of 16. A draw could complicate life for both teams, depending on the result between England and Ghana. Panama needs to score points to maintain its dream of advancing, while Croatia, runners-up in 2018, cannot afford to stumble again.
