Luxury store Kitson LA accuses wife of Hollywood bigwig of fraud for changing tags on glasses
A luxury establishment located in Malibu, California, made public an accusation of alleged fraud, releasing images of a customer who allegedly tampered with price tags on sunglasses. Kitson LA offered a $500 gift card reward for identifying the woman, who was soon recognized as Bianca Bezdek-Goodloe. The store claimed to have registered a police report, promising to combat what it called “rich scoundrels” who try to harm small businesses.
Bianca Bezdek-Goodloe works as an attorney in the entertainment industry and is married to J. Mills Goodloe, a prominent figure in Hollywood. Her husband has an extensive CV, with work on scripts for films such as ‘The Amazing Story of Adaline’ and ‘After That Mountain’, in addition to having contributed to the teams of ‘Lethal Weapon 3’ and ‘Free Willy 2’. He also led Richard Donner Productions, a studio associated with classic works such as ‘Superman: The Movie’, ‘The Goonies’ and ‘The Omen’.
The alleged crime detailed by Kitson LA involved the replacement of a price tag. According to the store, a pair of sunglasses valued at $58 had been tagged with a more expensive Ray-Ban model costing $198. The Malibu establishment, known for its controversial approach to publicly releasing images of individuals accused of theft or problematic behavior, used the post to mock the $750 per hour fee that Bianca Bezdek-Goodloe charges her clients.
When contacted by ‘The California Post’, Bianca Bezdek-Goodloe confirmed that she was the person portrayed in the images. However, she vehemently refuted all the allegations, calling the store’s claims “false, defamatory, misleading and inaccurate.” The lawyer also argued that the entire episode was nothing more than a “reality show” staged by Kitson herself.
