Christine Nickell, Oliver Tree’s mother, confirms that the singer’s fortune will all go to the foundation
Singer Oliver Tree’s family will not receive any portion of his estate. Christine Nickell, mother of the American artist, who died at the age of 32 on June 14 after a helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro, recently confirmed that her son’s entire inheritance was destined for an institution that supports new artistic talents. Approximately a month before the tragic accident, Oliver had publicly expressed the desire that his fortune be used to benefit a foundation he had established himself, rather than be bequeathed to his relatives.
Christine Nickell reiterated the information through a Facebook post. She stated that “Oliver Tree’s family will not receive a penny of your money” and that the donation, which involves the foundation “Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant For Baby Geniuses”, whose name in Portuguese would be “Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant Program for Baby Geniuses”, will begin operating later this week.
Estimates from the American portal Celebrity Networth, which specializes in evaluating the wealth of public figures, indicate that Oliver Tree had a net worth of US$4 million. This value corresponds to approximately R$20 million at the current price.
During an appearance on the “Zach Sang Show” podcast last May, Oliver Tree shared that he had established a foundation dedicated to providing grants for the development of new artistic endeavors. He detailed that earnings from his music career would be directed toward helping other musicians and singers realize their visions through collaborative support and production, reflecting a growing trend among celebrities to direct legacies toward social and educational causes. The artist’s intention was to ensure that the organization continued to support creators for many decades to come.
“My intention is that upon my death all funds will go to the artists,” said Oliver Tree. He went on to explain: “I have formed a foundation called Dr. Oliver Tree’s Art Grants for Baby Geniuses. The structure is designed so that the proceeds from my songwriting will finance this endeavor. However, there is the possibility of receiving other contributions, as even after I am gone, my work will retain residual value and will probably appreciate even more.”
