Monster Fantasy: PC game in 2027 promises fusion of Pokémon and Stardew Valley with free demo
A new adventure title, “Monster Fantasy”, has been officially revealed and is already generating expectations in the computer gaming scene, scheduled for release in 2027. Developed by the emerging studio Jotoyo, the game promises a unique experience by combining elements of hunting and collecting monsters with the tranquility of rural life and decoration, evoking influences from great hits such as “Monster Hunter”, “Pokémon” and “Stardew Valley”. A free gameplay preview is set to be made available to the public soon, along with the start of a crowdfunding campaign.
A new RPG adventure combines classic elements
The game “Monster Fantasy” appears as an innovative proposal in the growing market of RPGs and “cozy” life simulators. It seeks to fill a niche by offering the adrenaline of hunting and capturing powerful creatures, characteristic of “Pokémon” and “Monster Hunter”, alongside the relaxing experience of managing farms and customizing a home, aspects celebrated in “Stardew Valley”. This fusion meets a demand for games that offer depth and challenge, but also a welcoming escape, attracting both casual gamers and those more engaged in extensive adventures.
During an exclusive presentation, the Jotoyo team, including game producer Fei Fei and CEO Allan Xai, detailed the vision behind “Monster Fantasy.” They emphasized that the experience was designed to be flexible, allowing players to delve into both exploration and combat and farming activities, without needing to dedicate themselves to both pillars.
Freedom of gameplay for different styles
The Jotoyo studio prioritizes player freedom, ensuring that it is possible to advance the game’s central narrative whether through hunting monsters or dedicating themselves to farm activities. This approach aims to democratize the experience, ensuring that different player profiles find their own rhythm and mode of fun within the vast world of Eldoras.
The “Chibi” aesthetic, with characters and creatures in a cuter, more cartoonish visual style, was a conscious choice by the developers to signal the game’s accessibility. Even set in a photorealistic open world, the visual design of the interactive elements seeks to indicate that “Monster Fantasy” is an inviting experience, not focused on extreme difficulty, but rather on fun and engagement for a wide audience, including those who normally do not venture into more challenging RPGs.
Creature companions and a dynamic world
On the combat side, players can choose between several classes, with the possibility of easily switching between them, without the hassle of complex builds. The available classes are:
- Warrior
- Wizard
- Archer
- Swordsman
After defeating certain creatures, players can collect them and add them to their own companions, a system that directly harkens back to the “Pokémon” monster collection. The bond with these creatures is fundamental, as many of them go through up to three stages of evolution, growing in size and capacity. Over time, these companions can help with gathering tasks, serve as mounts and, of course, fight alongside the player in battles.
The world of “Monster Fantasy” is dynamic, with a day and night cycle that aligns with real time and influences the types of creatures encountered. Additionally, the game offers the option to play cooperatively with friends or recruit inhabitants (NPCs) to assist in adventures. The Eldoras map will be divided into four distinct biomes, which will gradually reveal themselves depending on the player’s progress and level.
Crowdfunding and next steps for launch
Allan Xai, CEO of Jotoyo, expressed the studio’s ambition to break down barriers between different gaming genres, seeking to create a universe where people of all ages and skill levels can find joy. “We hope that Monster Fantasy can become a bridge that unites friends and family”, declared Xai in an official statement, envisioning the game as an emotional haven of peace.
Although “Monster Fantasy” is expected to be released in late 2027, studio Jotoyo will launch a Kickstarter campaign on July 15. The campaign, even though it is not crucial for the game’s basic financing – which is already guaranteed -, aims to raise additional funds. These extra resources will go toward expanding functionality, such as adding new areas, a longer storyline, more online features, and improving gameplay complexity.
Along with the launch of the Kickstarter campaign, Jotoyo confirmed the availability of a free demo of the game. This will be the first opportunity for audiences to experience the fusion of elements that “Monster Fantasy” promises, anticipating what’s to come in the full version. The game is confirmed to be initially released only on PC.
