Civil Police closes clandestine factory that changed the validity of whey and powdered milk in São Paulo
A Civil Police operation resulted in the closure of a clandestine unit in São João da Boa Vista, in the interior of São Paulo, last Wednesday (24/6). The site was used to reprocess and repack food supplements and expired milk powder.
During the action, conducted by the General Investigations Department (DIG), an individual identified as Bruno Missaci Antunes was detained on suspicion of being primarily responsible for the illicit operation. Subsequently, the arrest in the act was converted by the Court into preventive detention, keeping the suspect in custody.
Investigators reported that the factory operated in a residence in the Jardim Dona Terezinha neighborhood. During the search, the police team found a large number of empty food supplement bottles, discarded in a dumpster, an indication of irregular activities.

The fraud methodology consisted of removing expired products from their original packaging, which were then transferred to new containers and labeled with falsified expiration dates. The investigations revealed that these products were rescheduled with new deadlines, extending, in some cases, until the year 2027, which demonstrates a large-scale food fraud scheme with a potential risk to public health, by placing items on the market that are unsuitable for consumption for a long period.
In testimony, the site’s employees confirmed that they carried out the procedures for removing and bagging the products, following company orders. However, they claimed to be unaware of the final destination of the goods that had been adulterated and were ready to be sold.
