Suspension failure leads Ford to issue urgent recall and ban Bronco Sport and Maverick from circulation
Ford began a recall campaign for Bronco Sport and Maverick models, manufactured between 2021 and 2025. The safety action, which focuses on front suspension components, brings a critical recommendation: the automaker strongly advises that owners do not drive the vehicles until the problem is completely resolved.
The company clarified that the risk identified is the possibility that the lower arm of the front suspension was not properly fixed to the wheel support, a failure that would have occurred during the assembly process.
This condition, which affects specific batches of both models, may result in the component detaching while the vehicle is in motion. According to the manufacturer, such an incident could lead to the driver losing control of the car, drastically increasing the danger of accidents with the potential for material damage, serious injuries or, in extreme cases, fatalities.
Given the seriousness of the defect, Ford recommends that the cars involved not be used until inspection and repair have been carried out. The “immediate stop” recommendation is an unusual safety measure in recalls, highlighting the severity of the risk. To check whether their units are part of the campaign, owners can consult the Ford app, call 0800 703 3673 or look for a brand dealership.
We are still seeking contact with Ford to obtain information about the logistics of transporting vehicles to dealerships, considering the non-driving instruction. To date, the company has not responded, and this report will be updated as soon as new details become available.

Details on free Bronco Sport and Maverick recall
The recall campaign covers units of the Bronco Sport, from model years 2021 to 2025, and the Maverick pickup truck, from model years 2022 to 2025. The complete list of affected chassis was made public by the automaker.
To resolve the problem, Ford will carry out an inspection of the front suspension assembly, free of charge. If any irregularity is confirmed, the wheel support and lower suspension arm will be replaced on both sides of the vehicle.
The estimated time for the inspection is approximately 20 minutes. However, if parts need to be replaced, the total time to complete the service may vary according to the availability of components and the dealer service flow.
Services related to this campaign began on June 18, 2026. Ford informed that, at the time of scheduling, customers will receive guidance on the safest way to take the vehicle to an authorized dealership.
