With qualification in the World Cup, the Brazilian team accumulates R$57.3 million in prize money and strengthens future investment
The Brazilian team guaranteed a significant amount of US$11 million, equivalent to R$57.3 million, by securing its place in the round of 16 phase of the World Cup. This early achievement not only celebrates sporting performance, but also provides an important financial injection for the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), solidifying planning for the next steps and possible investments.
The total amount obtained is the sum of US$9 million (around R$46 million) for simply participating in the group stage of the tournament, plus an additional bonus of US$2 million (equivalent to R$10.4 million) for advancing to the second phase of the competition. This payment structure rewards teams from the earliest stages, guaranteeing resources for the maintenance and development of the sport.
Brazil stood out at the top of Group C, gaining seven points after a solid campaign. The team started their journey with a 1-1 draw against Morocco, and later secured resounding 3-0 victories over Haiti and Scotland, demonstrating their dominance in the group stage.
In the same group, the Moroccan team also achieved seven points, equaling Brazil’s score. However, the African team came in second place due to the tiebreaker criteria established by the World Cup organization.
The competition also has even bigger prizes in store, with the World Cup champion receiving a significant sum of US$50 million, which corresponds to R$260.4 million, directly from FIFA.
