Extensive Galaxy Watch 9 leak reveals new visuals and major transition to Qualcomm processor
Samsung’s next Unpacked event, scheduled for the end of July in London, promises to present several new features, including the long-awaited Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8. However, the Galaxy Watch 9, seen as a strategic evolution in the wearable devices segment, has already had its exclusive images revealed by the Android Headlines portal even before the official presentation.
The new photographs of the Galaxy Watch 9 indicate a maintenance of the already familiar design, following the aesthetics present in the Galaxy Watch 8 model. It maintains the circular screen integrated into a “squircle” shaped body, a choice that, despite appearing conservative, is valued by users for its ergonomics and superior accuracy in reading the internal sensors, which remain in the same arrangement as the previous generation.
The main technical innovation of this new smartwatch is found in its internal hardware. Samsung has confirmed the switch from proprietary Exynos processors to the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, a chipset that was launched during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March. This change not only seeks to improve general performance, but also facilitates deep integration with artificial intelligence features, which stand out as a major differentiator in the wear experience on the wrist, offering the consumer a smarter and more responsive device.

The smart watch will be available in two different size options: a 40mm version and a 44mm version. The first will be offered in Cream or Graphite, while the larger 44mm model can be found in Silver or Graphite. Samsung will continue to offer options with Bluetooth and LTE connectivity, choosing not to incorporate 5G in this line, a decision that differentiates it from the approach adopted by competitor Apple in its devices.
The market must prepare for a possible adjustment in the prices of new models. The forecast indicates an increase of about $50 compared to last year’s prices, largely due to a global shortage of RAM and other components essential for manufacturing. If confirmed, suggested prices could reach US$399 and US$429 (equivalent to approximately R$2,070 and R$2,225 at the current price, without taxes). Accompanying the official launch on Unpacked, new accessories, including bracelets in different colors, will be presented.
