Flamengo and River Plate will have a crucial meeting in Portugal to discuss the future of left-back Matias Viña. The player, currently on loan to the Argentine team, may have his contract terminated sooner than expected, despite the original contract running until December.
River Plate’s board has already shown interest in ending the loan agreement. Conversations between the clubs should be deepened in the coming weeks, especially with the clash scheduled for July 3, a friendly at the Estádio do Algarve.
The Rio club informed the Argentines that, in case of early termination, there would be a need to pay a contractual fine. Furthermore, River Plate is responsible for the athlete’s salaries until the end of the year, and is now seeking a consensus to formalize his departure.
