Actor Fernando Kliche faced fulminant pancreatic cancer before his death at age 71
The death of actor Fernando Kliche, who was 71 years old, surprised the television and theater scene this Friday. The news hit everyone unexpectedly, as there was no prior information about any health condition that was afflicting him.
Fernando Kliche took the first steps in his artistic career in Chile, in 1981. The opportunity arose when producers from Canal 13 invited him to stay in the country, where he was initially just visiting his father, Walter Kliche, also a renowned actor.
Even away from television productions for a period, Kliche had been cast in the upcoming Mega series, entitled ‘Prohibida Obsesión’. He even participated in the recording of some scenes for the new project.
Producer Daniela Demicheli, from Mega, was the one who publicly revealed the actor’s health condition on a television program. She explained that Kliche’s participation in the soap opera had to be interrupted due to intense pain in her leg, a symptom that was later diagnosed as cancer.
“During filming, he felt pain in his leg,” Demicheli detailed. The actor sought medical attention, and after a series of tests, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Revelations about the pancreatic cancer that affected Fernando Kliche
The diagnosis pointed to pancreatic cancer at an advanced stage, with the presence of metastasis, indicating the spread of the disease.
“The disease was widespread, metastasizing,” stated the producer. For this reason, doctors opted for palliative treatment. The family and team maintained discretion regarding the information, meeting the actor’s desire to preserve his privacy.
“Everything happened very quickly, in about two months”, added Daniela. Despite the rapidity of the disease, the process went smoothly.
Demicheli highlighted Kliche’s great enthusiasm in joining the cast of the new soap opera. She also highlighted how much he was appreciated and loved by everyone behind the scenes of the recordings.
“He felt great joy in resuming work on soap operas,” described Demicheli. The producer also characterized him as “an extremely affectionate man, with a great relationship with the entire cast, and who was missed by everyone”.
