Dayanne Rodrigues do Carmo Souza, previously married to goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes, was hospitalized in Belo Horizonte. She entered the health unit on Saturday (4) night, after a period of three days in which she was missing. Details about his health status and the conditions for his reunion have not yet been released.
Dayanne Rodrigues do Carmo, 39 years old and born in the capital of Minas Gerais, has two daughters with former player Bruno. She gained public notoriety during the Eliza Samudio homicide investigation in 2010. Her name reappeared in the media last week, when her relatives contacted the Military Police to report her disappearance.
During the investigation into the murder case, she was detained. During that period, Dayanne was held responsible for the kidnapping and holding in private prison of Bruninho, the athlete’s son with the victim.
The court acquitted her in March 2013. The prosecutor responsible for the case argued that Dayanne should be acquitted, as she had been “coerced” into providing care to the child.
During the trial, Dayanne described her stay at the farm and transporting baby Bruninho, Eliza’s son. She claimed to have taken care of the child at Bruno’s request, without being aware of the facts that led to the model’s disappearance.
The disappearance of Dayanne Rodrigues and family concerns
The woman left her residence on Thursday (2) morning. After entrusting the children to their mother’s care, she was never seen again. The husband, upon returning to the couple’s home in Ribeirão das Neves, in Greater Belo Horizonte, called the Military Police in the early hours of Friday (3), reporting his wife’s disappearance.
According to police records, the husband reported having found his wife’s cell phone at home. On the device, he allegedly discovered messages with debt collections, allegedly sent by loan sharks.
The companion also used social media to request help. He released a poster asking for information about the woman’s whereabouts. The message highlighted the family’s desperation and the importance of any data for locating them.
Threats from loan sharks revealed in letters and cell phone messages
In addition to Dayanne’s cell phone, other evidence was found: letters written by her. In one of these writings, the woman expressed fear for the safety of her family, asking for “help for my children, family, for my partner.”
In another excerpt, she revealed that she had been the target of threats, declaring: “I’m being threatened by loan sharks, it’s all on my phone.” The letter ended with specific instructions regarding custody of their children.
