In a display of passion and talent, Mostafa Zico, an Egypt national team player, shone on the field during the clash against Argentina. The striker, who had a goal disallowed previously, managed to find the net once again, showing the determination of an athlete whose name resonates with the greatness of a football legend, the Brazilian Zico.
Expressing his reverence for Galinho de Quintino, Mostafa Zico revealed that the former Flamengo player has always been his biggest inspiration. “Zico is my role model as a player. I watched his videos, he is my favorite player. My father talked a lot about him, and I watched his videos on YouTube”, declared the Egyptian player at the end of last year, in an interview.
In addition to representing his nation on the international stage, the Egyptian striker wears the Pyramids Football Club shirt. The team, based in New Cairo, Egypt, is the team where Mostafa Zico regularly plays in club football.
Founded in 2008, Pyramids FC rose to prominence in Brazil after a clash with Flamengo in the Intercontinental Cup, a match that highlighted the presence of emerging clubs on the global football scene. In that clash, the Brazilian team emerged victorious with a score of 2-0, highlighting the strength of South American football.
