FURIA’s journey at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2026 began with an unfavorable result. In the early hours of Friday, July 4, the Brazilian team was beaten 3-0 by LYON, representative of LTA Norte, in their first game in the Bracket Phase of the prestigious international League of Legends tournament.

With the adverse score, the Brazilian organization was relocated to the lower bracket of the competition. Now, FURIA awaits the opponent that will emerge from the clash between Bilibili Gaming (BLG) and T1. A new stumble in the championship would mean the definitive elimination of the Brazilian team.

Details of the first clash: FURIA loses initial advantage against LYON

The inaugural map of the series proved to be the most competitive among the three. After an initial period without major differences in the game, FURIA managed to gain control of the match by winning a crucial fight for the third dragon and then securing the Barão.

Despite the significant advantage built throughout the confrontation, the Brazilian team was unable to convert this control into victory. Even after conquering a second Baron and the Soul of the Clouds, failures in decisive fights allowed LYON to react and turn the game around.

In the battle for the Elder Dragon, the North American team emerged victorious, eliminating three FURIA players. With the path clear, they advanced through the mid lane to destroy the Brazilian Nexus, opening the series 1-0.

Strategic dominance: LYON advances on the scoreboard in the second clash

FURIA had a good start in the second game, exerting pressure in the first minutes and achieving important kills.

However, LYON demonstrated superior organization in the macro game, taking control of the map’s main objectives. Similar to the first confrontation, the Brazilian team was unable to take advantage of the Barão conquered and saw their opponents regain control of the match.

In a decisive fight for the dragon, FURIA started the fight hastily, resulting in four eliminations of its players. With the route free, LYON invaded the Brazilian base, expanding its lead in the series to 2-0.

Convincing victory: LYON seals the result with the third game

With the urgent need to win to stay in the upper bracket, FURIA faced difficulties from the beginning of the third map.

The match remained balanced until approximately 20 minutes into the game. At this point, LYON won an important fight in the middle of the map, securing the Baron and establishing an advantage of around five thousand gold.

From that moment on, the North American team completely dominated the match. Unable to react, FURIA saw LYON invade their base and seal the series with a convincing 3-0 score.

FURIA elimination: MSI 2026 campaign comes to an end

After the defeat to LYON, FURIA officially ended its participation in MSI 2026. The Brazilian team was surpassed by T1 in the lower bracket of the tournament. The national team was unable to contain the dominant performance of the South Koreans, bidding farewell to the international competition. FURIA’s campaign ended among the best teams in the world, but without advancing to the decisive stages. With the elimination, the Brazilian organization now directs its efforts to the next challenges of the League of Legends competitive season, while T1 continues to compete for the Mid-Season Invitational title.
