On Wednesday, July 15, a Canadian duo consisting of a professional dog trainer and her two-year-old Pomeranian made history by setting a new Guinness World Record. The feat involved the small animal jumping ten times through its owner’s arms in an impressive time, less than eight seconds.
Canadian Jennifer Fraser, an experienced trainer, and her dog Twinkie, just two years old, competed for the “fastest time for a dog to perform ten jumps through a person’s arms”. They achieved the feat in exactly 7.48 seconds.
Twinkie is part of the renowned canine dance group Acro Canine Crew, who recently obtained the coveted golden button from presenter Terry Crews during an appearance on the famous show America’s Got Talent.
Together with other dogs trained by Fraser, the professional has already accumulated an impressive total of 19 Guinness World Records titles, solidifying her expertise in canine training and preparing animals for complex challenges.
In a statement to Guinness World Records, Fraser explained that Twinkie has mastered a wide range of tricks, all learned through positive reinforcement methods, which include rewarding treats, praise and affection. The trainer detailed that the record jump was taught in stages, with gradual progression, ensuring that Twinkie became confident and agile enough to perform in a timely manner.
