Barcelona secured another name for its offensive sector next season, complementing the arrival of Anthony Gordon. The Catalan club confirmed this Thursday, July 23, 2026, the incorporation of Karim Adeyemi, a 24-year-old striker. The German athlete ended his four-year cycle at Borussia Dortmund to seal an agreement with Barça, valid until 2031.
In the season that ended, Adeyemi helped Borussia Dortmund reach runner-up in the Bundesliga, behind only Bayern Munich. His performance included participation in 39 matches, with ten goals scored and six assists provided. The move to Barcelona represents a reunion with Hansi Flick, the coach who called him to the German national team for the first time, there is a luster, indicating a hiring strategy based on tactical familiarity.
Karim’s career in football began with Forstenried’s youth teams, passing through Bayern Munich and U’haching, before making his professional debut with Salzburg. Before arriving at Dortmund in 2022, he also had a spell at Liefering. The transfer to the German club at the time cost approximately 30 million euros, which was equivalent to around 175 million reais.
Adeyemi’s arrival is considered essential to reinforce the offensive sector of the Catalan team, which experienced the loss of three athletes during this transfer window. Robert Lewandowski, for example, did not have his contract renewed and went to Chicago Fire, in Major League Soccer (MLS). Ansu Fati, in turn, was officially transferred to Monaco after a loan period, for a fee of 11 million euros, equivalent to approximately 63 million reais.
A third significant casualty was that of Rashford, who returned to Manchester United at the end of his loan period last season, completing the list of athletes leaving the Blaugrana attack.
In terms of achievements, Barcelona celebrated the LaLiga and Spanish Super Cup titles in the 25/26 season. For the pre-season, the squad led by Flick has a series of friendlies scheduled: they will face Esportiu Europa this Friday, starting at 9am Brasília time, followed by games against Birmingham on July 31st and Preston North End on August 3rd.
