Attacked by passengers, man is arrested for sexual harassment on CPTM Line 11-Coral
An individual was detained in the act on the night of July 28, 2026, on charges of sexual harassment against a woman on board a CPTM Line 11-Coral train. The incident occurred near Dom Bosco Station, located in the East Zone of the city of São Paulo.
According to the incident report, the 29-year-old passenger described that she was traveling towards Estação Estudantes when she noticed a man approaching her hip area insistently. When she tried to move away, she realized that the man had his genitals exposed and was masturbating. The victim’s report also indicates that the suspect touched her leg with the organ, at which point she asked for help.

As the composition of Dom Bosco Station approached, other rail transport users began to confront the individual. As soon as the train stopped on the platform, he was thrown out of the carriage. Videos taken by witnesses show the man being attacked by several people at the scene, while CPTM security agents tried to intervene to control the situation.
A CPTM service and security agent was responsible for removing the suspect from the crowd and taking him to a safe area of the station, awaiting the arrival of the Military Police. The woman who suffered harassment was also taken to the same location to formalize her complaint.

In his statement to the Civil Police, the suspect, identified as Abdulmalek Kabawa, aged 29, vehemently denied committing the crime of sexual harassment. He stated that the train was very crowded and that the touching of the passenger was accidental while he was looking for his belongings. The man claimed to have been unfairly accused by other passengers, which resulted in the attacks he suffered.
After analyzing the statements, especially that of the victim and the information provided by the security agent, the police chief confirmed the arrest of Abdulmalek Kabawa for the crime of sexual harassment. The court decision pointed to the existence of evidence that he committed a libidinous act to satisfy his own lust, by masturbating and touching his genitals to the woman’s leg without her consent.
The case was registered at the 63rd Police District, in Vila Jacuí, as sexual harassment. The CPTM reported that the victim was released after completing the registration of the incident, while the suspect remained detained and was taken to the public prison.
