WhatsApp has launched a series of new features that promise to optimize the experience of its users, especially those who use the application on vehicle systems such as Android Auto and CarPlay. The update offers more convenience and features for managing messages and calls while in the car.

The company reported, through an official publication, that there has been a significant overhaul in the way the app’s audio is processed in Android Auto and CarPlay. Previously, interactions were limited to composing messages and making calls, but now the possibilities have been expanded considerably to offer more comprehensive control.

New features improve Android Auto experience

With the arrival of the update, drivers will be able to interact with their messages more completely, listening and responding directly through the vehicle’s screen. It will also be possible to make calls, view call history and access favorite contacts, all integrated into the car’s infotainment system. This change aims to make it easier to use the app in a safer, hands-free way while driving.

In addition to the improvements for Android Auto, WhatsApp introduced other important new features. Now, users will be able to open PDF files directly in the application, without having to download them in advance. There is also the option to make light edits, such as highlighting texts and adding notes to conversations, although this functionality is exclusive to the desktop and web versions. Another implemented feature allows you to share music from Apple Music or Spotify directly to WhatsApp Status.
