MacBook Air M5 becomes more expensive on Amazon after rising component prices
The MacBook Air M5, Apple’s 13-inch model, registered a price adjustment on Amazon, as noted on August 6, 2026. Previously, the device was offered for a promotional price of US$1,134, which represented a saving of 13% and the lowest cost seen since Apple’s widespread price increase for the entire line of MacBooks and iPads, which began in June.
However, the specific promotion for the 13-inch model has ended. Currently, the MacBook Air M5 is available on Amazon for a price of US$1,199, matching the price charged at Apple’s official store.

This fluctuation means that consumers currently pay between 15% and 25% more for the same device, compared to prices just a few months ago. Why are MacBook Air prices higher?
The increase in the cost of components is the main reason behind the rise in the cost of MacBooks.
