Officialized on August 17, 2026, the Chinese manufacturer’s latest user interface hits the market running on the basis of Android 17. The new software draws attention for combining more efficient resource management with the debut of the Super XiaoAI 2.0 intelligent tool, in addition to adopting a graphic identity that strongly resembles the acclaimed Liquid Glass style present in iPhones.

With this software update, the Asian giant intends to deliver stutter-free and visually refined daily browsing. The company’s promise is to transform the way consumers operate their smartphones, focusing especially on extracting maximum performance from the most robust hardware in its portfolio.

Aesthetic changes bring the Chinese system closer to the Apple ecosystem

Commercially named Soft Light Glass, the graphic redesign relies heavily on premium finishes for the cell phone screen. The user will notice a constant presence of translucent panels, light plays, background blur and improved transitions, creating a sense of depth that enhances every touch on the display.

All this aesthetic detail was applied to the most frequently accessed areas of the software, including the control center, quick shortcuts, information blocks on the home screen and configuration menus. To make the experience more immersive, the transparency level of the windows automatically changes depending on the wallpaper chosen, generating small virtual reflections as you scroll.

Unlike the strategy adopted by the American competitor, which tries to maintain an identical visual standard across almost its entire product line, the Chinese manufacturer restricted these complex effects to its more expensive models. Entry-level or intermediate devices will not have enough graphic processing power to run all the animations, demonstrating a clear segmentation in the brand’s catalog.

New customization and alert management tools on the screen

In addition to the new look, the interface offers a wide range of modifications for those who like to leave their phone with their own identity. The rest screen now accepts extensive changes to the typography and dimensions of the digital clock, ensuring that no two devices look exactly the same after initial setup.

The accumulation of unread messages also received special treatment to avoid visual pollution on the main panel. Taking inspiration once again from rival software, the company implemented an alert stacking system, where warnings are collected in a small lower tab and only expand when the smartphone owner decides to interact with them.

Source code improvements ensure greater speed and battery savings

Behind the scenes of the interface, engineers worked to reduce the system’s weight on physical components, saving both RAM memory and the central processor. The secret behind this energy efficiency lies in the improvement of HyperCore, the software’s internal engine that can now distribute background tasks in a much more intelligent way.

Official data reveals that the processing load required by the code fell 14.4% compared to the previous generation of the platform. For the end consumer, this math translates into a cell phone that opens social networks instantly, switches between games without freezing and loads heavy menus in fractions of a second, extending the useful life of the hardware.

Advanced integration with generative artificial intelligence in everyday use

Following the global technology market trend, the update introduces the Super XiaoAI 2.0 virtual assistant, driven by the MiMO-V2.5 proprietary language model. The utility maintains the basic capabilities of answering everyday questions and summarizing long texts, but now operates with a much more refined and faster database.

The big difference in this version is the introduction of the so-called Expert Mode, which transforms artificial intelligence into an autonomous agent inside the phone. On devices with cutting-edge processors, simply give a complex command for the assistant to open applications, copy data and complete tasks in multiple steps without requiring the user to touch the screen all the time.

Release schedule and list of smartphones compatible with the update

Before reaching the general public, the new virtual environment will go through a rigorous testing phase on dozens of pieces of equipment selected by the manufacturer. The initial distribution calendar for the test version has already been released, covering the following dates and product families:

  • From August 14: The first wave includes the premium models Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, in addition to the Redmi K90, Redmi K90 Pro Max line and the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro tablets.
  • From August 27th: In the second phase, the Xiaomi 17 Max, Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro devices, the entire Xiaomi 15 family (standard, Pro, 15S Pro and Ultra) enter, along with the Redmi K90 Max, Redmi K90 Ultra and the Redmi K Pad 2 tablet.
  • From September 17: The third batch covers the Redmi K100 Pro, K100 Pro Max devices, the Redmi K80 series (standard, Pro and Extreme Edition), the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 foldable and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra and Pad 7S Pro 12.5 tablets.

Owners of equipment listed in the first batch will have access to the data package simultaneously, while subsequent dates will follow a release format in smaller batches. This initial planning exclusively covers Chinese territory, and we still have to wait for an official statement on the expansion of the software to global consumers.

The catalog of supported phones is not definitive and is expected to grow in the coming months, encompassing best-selling models such as the POCO X7, POCO X8 and POCO F8. Until the end of this testing calendar, the Asian corporation chose not to set an exact date for sending the stable and final version to common users.
