The 2027 Nissan Sentra, a discreet model but with attractive features, managed to keep its launch price below the US$23,000 mark, although this is just the starting price. For the latest year/model, the base cost starts at $22,890, not including shipping and handling of $1,245. Thus, the effective price for the consumer reaches US$24,135. This value represents an increase of just US$290 compared to the 2026 version, offering in return tangible improvements, as announced by Nissan: the acceleration curve of the Xtronic continuously variable transmission is more linear and the accelerator pedal commands are more responsive. The more complete versions also bring other new features.
SR version of the 2027 Nissan Sentra receives renewed Midnight edition
The 2027 Nissan Sentra lineup consists of the Sentra S, Sentra SV, Sentra SR and Sentra SL models. For this new version, the SR model gains the Midnight Edition option, which adds an extra touch of exclusivity with black details on the windows, 18-inch glossy black wheels, two-tone Super Black roof and special emblems. This package costs an additional $650. For the Sentra SR, Super Black and Gun Metallic colors are available at no extra cost, enhancing the vehicle’s imposing appearance, while other color options range from $450 to $950. It is important to note that the prices listed below do not include the mandatory destination and handling fee, set at $1,245 by Nissan, unchanged from the previous year.
- 2027 Nissan Sentra S: $22,890
- 2027 Nissan Sentra SV: $23,590
- 2027 Nissan Sentra SR: $24,990
- 2027 Nissan Sentra SL: $27,990
A notable addition is the Qi2 wireless charging option, which is not present in the entry-level S version, but can be included in the SV version’s Convenience Package. This package, costing $990, also offers heated front seats, a leatherette-wrapped and heated steering wheel, heated exterior mirrors with LED turn signals, a proximity entry and locking system, and an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror. In the more robust SR and SL versions, similar features, including wireless charging, come as standard.
2027 Sentra Performance and Comfort Reviewed
The 2027 Sentra maintains the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, capable of generating 149 horsepower and 198 Nm of torque. Despite improvements to the powertrain, the vehicle continues to focus on comfort and efficiency, without positioning itself as a sports car, which is consistent with its price range. Incremental improvements, based on customer feedback, improve a car that was already considered good. The Sentra’s design, with its manga-like style and all-black finish, gives the model a striking and accessible presence, with the SR version’s black front grille helping to reinforce this look. Furthermore, amid current gasoline prices, the ability to achieve up to 16 km/l on the highway represents an important benefit. Considering these points, the increase of US$290 compared to the 2026 model seems justified, unless the consumer opts for the used vehicle market, where they can find greater savings.
