Corinthians boy is the target of hostility at the Neo Química Arena for winning Neymar’s shirt

A sad and worrying episode occurred at the Neo Química Arena on August 30, 2026, when a young Corinthians fan, an admirer of Neymar, was the target of hostility as he left the stadium, shortly after Santos’ victory over the black and white team.

After the match ended, player Neymar handed his shirt to a young fan, who was deeply moved by the gift, in a gesture that seemed to celebrate his passion for football.

Neymar, Santos’ number 10, commented on what happened, stating that the gesture was respectful. “It was a boy who is a Corinthian fan, a child, regardless of the team he supports, rival or not, when he likes an athlete, he can admire me at various times, it’s part of it. I promised and ended up giving him (the shirt). It’s a respect not only for the child fan, for the Corinthians fan”, said the athlete.

However, the moment of joy quickly turned into anguish. The boy and his family needed a police escort and stadium security to leave the stands, after being the target of verbal hostility from other Corinthians fans who were still there. This type of behavior, increasingly common in football, goes against the sporting spirit and transforms passion into an environment of intolerance, negatively impacting the experience of young fans.

Video records, widely publicized, show the fans’ anger, who directed verbal attacks at the boy, visibly frightened by the situation.

In the sporting aspect, Santos won the São Paulo classic 1-0, in a game valid for the 25th round of the Brazilian Championship. The only goal of the match was scored by Oliva, taking advantage of a rebound from a free kick taken by Neymar.

Neymar, who had been absent in the game against Palmeiras for the Copa do Brasil, had a positive participation at the Neo Química Arena, being a starter and contributing to his team’s victory.
