CD PROJEKT RED released its financial results for the first half of the year. The group achieved 435 million Polish zloty (PLN) in revenue, with a consolidated net profit of PLN 249 million.

The company’s net profitability in this period was remarkable, reaching 57.2%. These numbers reflect robust growth, considering the maturity of some of its main franchises and the diversification of its revenue sources.

The company also announced an ambitious agenda for the coming years within the universe of The Witcher. Among the highlights are the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered on September 29, 2026, the expansion The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past scheduled for 2027 and the expectation for The Witcher 4 in 2028.

During gamescom, the studio presented to the public, for the first time, a gameplay trailer for the expansion The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, generating great enthusiasm among fans.

With three major releases in three consecutive years, The Witcher franchise demonstrates that it is entering a new and promising phase of development, consolidating its expanded universe.

The success of the series is proven by the more than 65 million copies sold of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and a total of 90 million copies of the series worldwide.

Michał Nowakowski, joint CEO of CD PROJEKT RED, commented on the strategy: “This solidity allows us to outline the future of the universe over several years, without focusing on just one release. At this year’s gamescom, we were finally able to present the extent of our plans.”

At gamescom’s Opening Night Live gala in Cologne, the studio publicly showed off the trailer for Songs of the Past, the third expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, developed in collaboration with Fool’s Theory.

Nowakowski added that, after eleven years, Geralt will return for a new adventure before Ciri takes on the lead role in The Witcher 4. The content shown at Opening Night Live was very well received, with more than ten thousand global fans gathered in the stands to watch the Songs of the Past gameplay trailer, confirming players’ interest in new narratives in this universe.

The Songs of the Past expansion is scheduled for release in 2027.

Additionally, the studio revealed a remastered edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, scheduled for release on September 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series A partnership with Blizzard Entertainment will ensure that both the remastered version and Songs of the Past also arrive on the Battle.net platform.

The Witcher 4 is expected to arrive in 2028, which means CD PROJEKT RED plans to release a major title set in The Witcher universe annually, from the current year until the release of the fourth game.

How Licensing Expands the Cyberpunk Universe

Almost six years after its release, Cyberpunk 2077 surpassed the mark of 40 million copies sold. The Phantom Liberty expansion, in turn, reached 15 million copies sold in less than three years, indicating the longevity and continued interest in the franchise.

Michał Nowakowski explained that these results demonstrate effective product lifecycle management, which involves expansion to new platforms and ongoing support for games. He stated that Cyberpunk has grown into a multifaceted franchise, going beyond video games. This year, Night City was featured in titles like Wuthering Waves and Apex Legends, and the Cyberpunk TCG became the highest-funded game project in Kickstarter history.

This same strategic approach drives the return of the anime series, whose first season had a considerable impact on the game’s popularity. The second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, developed again in partnership with Japanese studio TRIGGER, will premiere on Netflix on October 20th.

Revenue and consolidated profit boost the company’s semester

In the first half of 2026, the CD PROJEKT RED Group achieved a turnover of PLN 435 million, representing an increase of 23% compared to the same period of the previous year. The Group’s consolidated net profit was PLN 249 million, a growth of 37% compared to last year, with net profitability reaching 57%.

Piotr Nielubowicz, CFO of CD PROJEKT RED, stated that high revenues in the first half of 2026 were driven by strong sales of games from the Cyberpunk and The Witcher universes. He also pointed out the significant contribution of intellectual property licensing, an activity that is gaining increasing importance for the company and reflects the global recognition of its brands in popular culture.
