Rockstar North adds canine waste throwing to GTA 6 world
Studio Rockstar North confirmed that dual protagonists Jason and Lucia can interact with animals and hurl bags of canine waste at pedestrians across Vice City in the upcoming release of GTA 6. Information regarding the open world surfaced following the studio’s debut of an official gameplay video centered on the fictional state of Leonida.
Rob Nelson, co-director at Rockstar North, detailed the waste mechanic directly to content creator TGG during an on-site visit to the production studio.
Throwing bagged dog waste in city streets
Nelson explained that players may watch a canine relieve itself and strike the owner immediately after the mess gets collected into a disposable pouch. “If someone is walking their dog down the street and the dog takes a poop, you can wait for them to bag the dog poop and then beat them up and they drop the bag of dog poop,” Nelson said. The director added that “then you can pick up the bag of dog poop and throw it at people” when navigating the urban environment.

Leonida serves as primary setting.

Secondary recreations and console technical targets
Nelson noted that unguided environmental discovery continues the structural design established by previous studio projects, specifically citing hidden discoveries such as an animal linked to winning lottery figures. “There’s a whole other world in Red Dead Redemption 2, and GTA 6 follows that same sort of line,” the executive stated regarding unprompted exploration.
Beyond petting, scolding, and feeding stray animals encountered throughout the vast virtual map of Leonida, players will control dual protagonists Jason and Lucia across underground fight clubs, dirt bike races, electric scooter rentals, and navigation challenges featuring airboats, watercraft, and kayaks along regional waterways.
The title also incorporates recreational matches of minigolf, basketball, and billiards alongside skydiving jumps and deep-sea diving expeditions. Rockstar North launches GTA 6 on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with performance locked at 30 FPS.
