Arm unveiled the Neoverse CSS N4 compute subsystem on September 9, 2026, delivering up to 128 cores and PCIe Gen7 capabilities for future enterprise servers. The Neoverse CSS portfolio expanded into multiple commercial products over recent years to support expanding infrastructure demands.

Built on a 3nm process, the Arm Neoverse N4 CSS supports configurations ranging from 8 to 128 cores per die while establishing the Armv9.3 architecture as its fundamental baseline. These power-efficient cores reach operating frequencies of up to 3.8GHz with native support for FP8 and MMLA calculations, relying on the Arm Neoverse CMN S4 Interconnect fabric with its 16×16 mesh layout and CHI C2C technology to unify cores, memory channels, and die interfaces across coherent multi-chiplet systems. The interconnect binds every internal component together.

Memory support covers LPDDR6 along with DDR5 and MRDIMMs running at speeds between 8000 and 12000MT/s, while input-output capabilities deliver up to 128 lanes of PCIe Gen7 for future server processors.

The XSight Labs E1 64-Core Arm 800G DPU represents a practical deployment of the preceding N-series hardware. It uses 64 Neoverse N2 cores.

Adopting a Neoverse CSS configuration allows a startup like XSight Labs to outsource foundational engineering work to Arm and accelerate product commercialization.

While the Neoverse V-series frequently targets high-visibility computing, N-series designs maintain extensive adoption across data processing units and network equipment. Arm also advances proprietary hardware developments through the Arm AGI CPU project.
