Guinness World Records registers Grand Theft Auto 6 early mark

Grand Theft Auto 6 claimed official entries inside the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2027 prior to its worldwide commercial debut. The upcoming action title secured verification across several measurement categories.

The Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2027 registered the title for securing the most views for a video game trailer within 24 hours.

Guinness World Records adjudicators anticipate further record milestones once Rockstar Games launches the title globally. Monitoring procedures remain operational.

The publication documented early achievements for Grand Theft Auto 6 prior to retail availability.

Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2027 credited the production with 475 million views during its first day online. This total established an unprecedented opening volume.

Alice Bell, editor of Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2027, confirmed that “the first trailer still has the most views in 24 hours of any video game trailer” in industry history.

Bell stated that Spider-Man: Brand New Day later surpassed another launch benchmark held by Rockstar Games. The 475 million views across platforms represent approximately 6% of the global human population.

Rockstar Games distributed the initial Grand Theft Auto 6 promotional video in December 2023, followed by a second preview in May 2025 that revealed additional setting details, and subsequently issued an extended 27-minute footage presentation across multiple digital distribution channels.

Netflix streamed the 27-minute presentation first before the material appeared on YouTube. Both platforms logged viewer engagement.

Bell noted that Netflix keeps viewership data confidential while observing that the extended footage likely challenged internal performance records on the service.

Guinness World Records intends to evaluate player numbers, total sales revenue, and developer staff sizes after release. Red Dead Redemption 2 currently holds the documented record for the largest development team on a single production.

Bell stated that the organization will be “keeping a close eye on launch and post-launch events” as Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives in stores.

Rockstar Games maintains previous historical milestones through Grand Theft Auto 5, which registered 225 million sales as of February 2026. The 2013 installment also ranked as the most-watched video game on Twitch throughout 2024.

The Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2027 volume catalogues hardware developments, influential game franchises, digital creators, and real-world gaming achievements.

Amazon and bookstores distribute the reference book for $15.99 in the United States and £12.99 in the United Kingdom. Copies are available now.

Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series systems.
