A leaked hands-on video published on Weibo on 10 September 2026 revealed the Honor Magic9 Pro Max in a Moss Green finish ahead of an official launch slated for late September. The upcoming series also includes the standard Honor Magic9 alongside the 9 Pro.

Redesigned camera island replaces the previous circular housing

The footage showcases physical modifications that abandon the circular camera bump seen on the earlier Magic8 generation. Engineers instead installed a wide rectangular foundation topped with rounded segments. The phone uses Moss Green.

Dual high-resolution sensors lead the optical array

Rear markings detail a primary 200MP 1/1.28-inch sensor with an f/1.57 lens and optical stabilization that counters 3 degrees of deflection alongside a secondary 200MP 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto unit engineered through an expanded ARRI partnership originating from the Robot Phone. The rear module lists the hardware specifications directly.

  • Primary 200MP sensor measuring 1/1.28-inch with an f/1.57 aperture and 3-degree deflection stabilization
  • Secondary 200MP periscope sensor measuring 1/1.4-inch linked to the ARRI engineering partnership

Display borders and facial recognition hardware

The screen features narrow 1mm bezels on all borders. On the front, an elongated pill-shaped cutout houses a square Android selfie sensor alongside a 3D depth scanner. This arrangement retains dedicated hardware for advanced facial authentication.

Acoustic components and physical frame controls

Audio output relies on balanced 1216 speaker grilles placed across the upper and lower edges of the chassis. A dedicated artificial intelligence key sits on the right frame.
