Rockstar Games has turned one of the best-known memes of the Grand Theft Auto community into a working feature of GTA 6’s main campaign. In the game, the protagonist orders his own car through a fictional smartphone app, and a motorized courier brings it wherever the character is. The mechanic was detailed in a special report published by Edge magazine on October 30, 2026.
The change alters how players travel through the story, because cars can be recovered quickly without cheat codes. The feature also matters for the arsenal, since the trunks now work as fixed storage for the weapons and equipment of Jason and Lucia.
Cars stop being disposable items during the journey. Until now, remote recovery of personal vehicles existed officially only in GTA Online, through the mechanic contact, and in Red Dead Redemption, where horses can be summoned over short distances.
In the preview, the player opens the smartphone, picks a registered vehicle and waits for a non-playable character to arrive. The driver parks on the sidewalk and leaves riding pillion on a scooter driven by another rider.

How a 2008 GTA 4 joke started in Liberty City
The joke began in 2008 during live broadcasts by the FourPlayerPodcast team on the old Justin.tv platform. Host Brad Simons rode a basic scooter through the streets of Liberty City in GTA 4 when he met another computer-controlled rider on the same model. He chased the driver while shouting comic catchphrases, treating the pair as inseparable travel partners. The recording moved to YouTube and reached more than 7.5 million views over the years.
Rockstar had already included a first tribute in GTA 5, released in 2013. When players switched to Trevor Philips, they often found him riding a scooter beside a stranger, repeating the same lines from the original broadcast.

November 19 launch, console platforms and PC timing
The vehicle support feature was confirmed in the final stretch of the game’s global promotion. Rockstar’s publishing schedule keeps the game on consoles at launch, and the release was reaffirmed by Take-Two Interactive.
