Connection problems and instability on WhatsApp Web persisted in the early afternoon of this Tuesday, November 4, 2025, affecting the communication of thousands of users in Brazil and globally. The peak of failure reports, initially recorded around 11 am (Brasília time), demonstrated an intense concentration on the browser version of the application. Monitoring platforms indicate that the volume of complaints, although off its peak, is still significantly above normal, suggesting a slow and gradual recovery.

The main manifestation of the failure is WhatsApp Web’s difficulty in loading conversations, “zeroing” the list of contacts and messages in many cases, or just displaying a stuck loading screen. User reports indicate that, in some regions, functionalities have been recovered, but instability continues. Until the completion of this update, Meta, the company that controls the service, had not yet officially commented to explain the technical cause of the problem or to provide an estimate for the complete restoration of the service.

WhatsApp Web failure is the epicenter of the problem

Monitoring of online services, such as Downdetector, showed that more than 50% of registered complaints were directly linked to WhatsApp Web. The flaw prevents the synchronization of the cell phone account with the computer, an essential resource for the work environment and professional communication.

The mobile version (Android and iOS) of the application seems to be less affected, operating with occasional instability when sending media and voice messages, but maintaining basic functionality for the majority of users. The surge in complaints reinforces the dependence on the platform for daily activities and the impact of the failure on the workflow.

Slow recovery pattern after morning spike

Monitoring data shows that, after the peak of complaints registered around 11 am, the trend was for a slight drop in reports, indicating the beginning of a recovery, albeit slow. In previous incidents, complete service normalization took an average of about two hours from the height of the instability.

The lack of an official statement from Meta prevents confirmation of the exact nature of the failure, but experts continue to point to the possibility of a server overload or routing problems resulting from a global update. The instability extended to Western European countries, such as the United Kingdom and Germany, confirming the international scope of the problem.

Preventative and alternative communication measures

While total normality is not restored, the recommendation for users who continue to experience problems is to focus on palliative solutions to ensure essential communication. Trying to restart the mobile app or clear the browser cache in WhatsApp Web may resolve isolated crashes.

  • Prioritize the mobile app: The mobile version has shown greater stability and is the safest option for urgent messages.
  • Test the connection: Check that the problem is not local by performing speed tests and switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  • Use safe alternatives: In cases of extreme urgency, platforms such as Telegram or Signal can serve as backup of communication.

The technology community is closely monitoring the situation, awaiting a position from Meta that confirms full restoration and explains the technical reasons for the instability. Monitoring indicates that the service remains partially compromised in the early afternoon.
