Barcelona held a training session open to the public at the Camp Nou stadium this Friday, November 7, 2025, in Barcelona, Spain. The activity brought together exactly 23 thousand fans at the venue, which has been closed for official games since May 2023 due to extensive renovations.
All tickets put on sale by the club were purchased within hours, allowing fans first access to the stadium in more than two years. The session served to test partial structures and bring the cast closer to the fans during construction.

Current roster with no games on site
Several athletes in the squad never played official matches at the Camp Nou. The team has played at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium since the 2023/2024 season. The last match at the stadium took place on May 28, 2023, with a 3-0 victory over Mallorca. Players like Pedri and Gavi participated in training for the first time at the renovated venue.
Advances in modernization
The works began in June 2023 with partial demolition of old sectors. The capacity will increase from 99,000 to 105,000 seats, with the potential for 110,000. The project includes complete retractable coverage and high-definition screens in all sectors. Total investment reaches 1.5 billion euros, financed by partnerships and loans.
Interaction between team and fans
Athletes performed warm-ups, tactical exercises and game simulations. Coach Hansi Flick orientor the session for about 90 minutes. At the end, players signed autographs and posed for photos with fans near the sides of the field. Children received official shirts in raffles promoted during the activity.
Planning for official return
Local authorities carry out regular inspections for gradual release. Load tests in stands have been taking place monthly since September 2025. The club is awaiting final safety and accessibility certifications before scheduling games. More similar events are scheduled for the coming months with growing audiences.
Barcelona maintains its focus on LaLiga and faces Celta on Sunday, at 5pm (Brasília time), away from home. The renovation of Spotify Camp Nou incorporates sustainable elements, such as solar panels that will generate 20% of the stadium’s energy and a rainwater collection system for irrigation of the hybrid pitch installed in August 2025.
Hospitality sectors and VIP areas occupy renovated spaces on the east side, scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026. The lawn features advanced drainage technology, capable of absorbing up to 40 thousand liters of water per hour in heavy rain.
Sustainability in the project
Solar panels cover 60% of the new roof. Water reuse system serves irrigation and toilets. Recycled materials make up 40% of metal structures. LEED Gold certification is the project’s goal.
